Thanks. My obsession with purple is what incentivized me to make the original Yotsuba P
theme for this site.
>First video game you played
I think this was my first game: https://invidious.tube/watch?v=48TOb92qfJ0
I got the game from a cereal box when I was about 6 years old, and since I didn't know any English back then I just kept exploring the maps in the time trial levels (not even knowing what that was, I just assumed it was a "training" mode) and playing races from time to time. As a kid I didn't pay too much attention, I tended to get lost in the main world (a kind of square maze with portals everywhere) and go through the same areas over and over again, getting surprised to find a new level (which I had probably seen before but didn't remember it) **and getting scared when I saw huge forbidden signs because I thought something horrible was on the other side (actually they were just blocked routes).
>what you can remember about beating it the first time
I don't think I ever completed the game. I just kept wandering around all the levels (one level set in the city was my favorite) with no idea what to do.
>and how you feel about the game now.
Now that I remembered the game I find it funny how much this game entertained me (and scared me, because I got lost easily and the levels had no music, only sound effects) a game that can really be considered mediocre. I watch videos and realize how clunky the controls are and how little content it had, yet it entertained me for years with no problem.
By the way, it turns out that the game was called "Team Losi RC Racer" (I don't know why it was called "Buggy" on the disc that came with the cereal), is considered abandonware and is available on myabandonware.net (I don't know how reliable that page is).
