Night of 1000 Wolves Anonymous 10/14/2020 (Wed) 15:54:01 No. 6106 [Reply]
Hillbilly is a bust & I am in a foul mood. So you're getting spookier shit now. A 3 issue mini-series called 'Night of 1000 Wolves'. Let's go! ISSUE 1
19 posts and 66 images omitted.
>>6148 You're right & I get that. Like I said before, it all harkens back to old fears. Wolves would attack children who wandered into the woods & kill livestock for food. So people demonized wolves as evil rather than just hungry territorial animals.
>>6136 >>6148 >>6149 The thing about werewolf tales is that not all traditional werewolves/werecreatures were evil. Many were because they were supposed to be people who intentionally made a deal with the devil for power to transform or were just a demon possessing a wolf or a witch controlling a wolf but some stories had an innocent person cursed in some way into becoming a werebeast of some sort. In those cases the werewolf would be even less vicious than even just a normal wolf. Timid even. Which makes sense. Transform a kind young girl into a wolf and she would have the same personality and just be frightened and confused. Transform the Zodiac Killer into a wolf and he'll murderfuck his way through the population with glee until he's stopped.
>>6150 I know there's at least a slavic(?) legend about a wolf headed man that leaves fish on the window sills of people's homes during Christmas or some such. I also remember seeing a show talk about how Saint Patrick encountered werewolves who according to themselves were servants of God. Wish I could remember what that show was called but it was like animatic recreations of scary legends.

Kevin Smith Developing a Green Hornet Animated Series Anonymous 08/07/2020 (Fri) 19:49:51 No. 3544 [Reply]
>Smith and WildBrain are developing the new animated series to target a family audience. The series will be set in contemporary times, following the adventures of a re-imagined Green Hornet and Kato – now the grown son of the original Green Hornet and the daughter of the original Kato – as they partner to battle crime in Century City. It will also feature the Green Hornet’s ultra-high-tech car, Black Beauty. >WildBrain, which is the owner of classic brands including Peanuts, Teletubbies and Inspector Gadget, and Smith will take the project out to broadcasters and streamers. >Kevin Smith said, “It’s an honor to escort the legendary Green Hornet and Kato into their very own animated series for the first time in the rich history of these iconic pop culture characters. We’ll be telling a tale of two Hornets – past and future – that spans generations and draws inspiration from a lifetime spent watching classic cartoons and amazing animation like Batman: The Animated Series, Heavy Metal, and Super Friends. I can’t believe WildBrain gave me this job and I can’t thank them enough for the opportunity to extend my childhood a little longer.” >Stephanie Betts, EVP Content and Current Series at WildBrain, added, “We’re thrilled to embark on a new animated Green Hornet series with Kevin, who has set up an incredibly rich world with a cast of amazing characters – especially Kato, who is no longer just a sidekick, but is now a strong female partner to the Green Hornet. With his ingenious talent and passion for superheroes and classic franchises, Kevin is the perfect creator to update the Green Hornet. We’re excited to share the new Green Hornet and Kato with audiences worldwide.” Source: Some Deadline Article

>>3546 It will not make it into the series unless French are involved. >>3547 It depends on Smith's involvement. If he is just a producer or directs few episodes, it might be alright. As long as Smith is not allowed to write it, there is hope for the series to be good. I just wonder how exactly the two eras will be handled. Will it be just two separate stories, each running as its own 15 minute segment, or will they intertwine somehow?

Addams Family Anonymous 10/08/2020 (Thu) 19:55:50 No. 5817 [Reply]
A sequel to the Addams Family animated film was announced. Was the first one even any good?
2 posts and 1 image omitted.
Kind of forgot about it. Did originally planned to watch it but just didn't for some reason. I guess it did better than it should've. Made 200 million on a 24 million budget. Even when you cut marketing and theaters cut, that is still a good chunk of money. Not surprised it's getting a sequel because with the back and forth of studios and theaters pushing for new releases or delaying them, and the forced pandemic making it hard to do live action anything on a good schedule, cartoons and animation are getting backed heavily right now. Might as well give a sequel to a dud animated movie if it at least made money.
Ugh, the first one was awful. Made by people who had no clue what made the Addams family interesting. Of course it gets a sequel.
>>5817 >>5818 The movie is... average, not bad not good either, the plot is predictable, it's just average. Something that I really appreciate is that they did a really good job at adapting the comicbook characters to CGI format, something that I've seen very rarely nowadays, this is weird since other characters are fucking horrible both in design and animation, but the family is fairly impressive by comparison.

mao mao Anonymous 05/13/2020 (Wed) 01:21:42 No. 819 [Reply]
I will make some autistic observations in no particular order about cartoon network's relatively new show, mao mao: heroes of pure heart, which /co/, to my displeasure, has never had a proper thread about first off, whats this show about? a male feline edgelord with daddy issues from a family of living legends and his best friend, a huge male cyborg badger who always takes it easy when he isn't being criticized, they, after defeating a crew of sky pirates via. mishap, fly away on their flying motorcycle and accidently run into the then-invisible ruby pure heart, which partially breaks it and causes them to both fall off into pure heart valley, and causes the ruby pure heart's invisibility to permanently wear off, exposing whats basically carebearland to the vicious monsters in the forests surrounding pure heart valley, so mao mao quickly learns of this and becomes indebted to pure heart valley, where a particular sweetiepie(carebear) who wants to be a hero takes a liking to them and helps mao mao and badgerclops fight bad guys even though they told her to stay put, after which they let her be a part of the team, despite being 5 years old, and so the show is about them being the sheriffs of pure heart valley you can take this show somewhat seriously, but not completely seriously; this show usually puts humor first, and should be treated as such, although some episodes have plenty of entertaining non-humor for some episodes, this show bludgeons the plot of episode over your head, such as how badgerclops' friends are treating him badly, how badgerclops' refuses to believe that the crystals he bought don't prevent him from smelling bad and thinks that people only act like it because they envy his crystals, how adorabat shouldn't be trying to take shortcuts to becoming a hero, or how mao mao wants to prove that his sword doesn't suck; I dislike said bludgeoning, but I like most of those episodes anyway because of how they handle said bludgeoning the amount of toilet humor is low, but it exists, and not in every episode; it is sometimes subtle, and it sometimes is not, and its existence is one of the few things that I dislike about this show this show has plenty of continuity; for example, badgerclops gets the top bunk in every episode after the 4th one however, episodes 17 and 20 have their numbers swapped around for some reason; episode 17 is actually episode 20, while episode 20 is actually episode 17, due to how mao mao's friends act in episode 20 like they've never heard the name of mao mao's sword before this show has some sorts of character development: in some episodes, characters have an opportunity to develop, and they do in other episodes, characters have a clear opportunity to develop, and they choose not to and in one recent episode, mao mao has an opportunity to undergo character development, but only undergoes partial character development by not overcoming a fear of his, but finally admitting that he has said fear after spending the entire episode denying his fear

>>5251 Give episode 13 a try. If you don't like any of it, you probably won't get too much enjoyment from the rest of the show. Comic Browser Thing? Anonymous 09/28/2020 (Mon) 22:21:54 No. 5588 [Reply]
LADS Halp I fancy browsing, briefly previewing, then DL-ing a load of comics (no capeshit), don't know precisely what I'm after but for example I'm remembering some non-Dredd 2000AD stories I *kind of* got into 15 years ago that I'd like to find, I can't recall the names even when I look at a list so I snapped and am downloading all of 2000AD to try and find what I was looking for... but I was thinking (surely) there must be some 'At a glance comic preview'-database thing/site of older/completed runs that has: >the comic name >a few covers and or example pages of work Could be light as a feather, something a reader could quickly scan through to see what old titles tickle their fancy, rather than having to open a million links, doesn't have to link to downloads or have any current on-going runs either.

Keanu Reeves BRZRKR comic kickstarter makes comic pros angry. Anonymous 09/01/2020 (Tue) 23:14:59 No. 4724 [Reply]
Even though it's on kickstarter, they're still angry because comic pros are broke losers who can't sell comics even when they control most of the MSM news outlets. Of course it would make a lot of money since the release of Bill & Ted 3, the upcoming and highly anticipated Cyberpunk game and because it stars Keanu Reeves. Same complaints when Bella Thorne nuked OnlyFans saying that it's for the common people and those who need it for crowdfunding when they are gatekeeping certain individuals from using their preferred platform. Determining on how fast it goes, it should easily hit 1 million at the end of it's run. Maybe even 2 million if there is a lot of Keanu Reeves fans. Story concept sounds very cliche and I'm not an avid crowdfunding user myself because of many failed promised kickstarters but this one seems okay and less shady than Kwanza delivering White in any state. https://archive.is/P9fXJ (kickstarter) https://archive.vn/0fnxd (bleeding stool)

>>5024 Kickstarter hired a full time employee with the sole job of banning any comics campaigns that she didn't like, meaning any that didn't come from the SJW clique. That's why every other notable comics campaign for the last few years has been on Indiegogo instead. Of course Keanu Reeves is famous enough that they couldn't ban him without normalfags realizing what they're doing.
All that money just because Keanu Reeves name is slapped on the project. Jesus Christ.
After checking this out I'm getting some Wolverine vibes from this for some reason.

So tell me honestly; how much damage will this series do the Masters of the Universe franchise as a whole? Will there be pressure from the usual suspects to make sure all things She-Ra related take after this, as if to "canonize" their precious dykes?

>>5457 That's precisely what will happen, but given that those same people are doing everything in their power to ensure the boogaloo happens come November, nobody is going to be taking their shit soon anyway.

Don Bluth looking to bring back 2D animation Anonymous 09/12/2020 (Sat) 20:46:33 No. 5027 [Reply]
Don Bluth teams up with Lavalle Lee to bring back hand-drawn animation. The first project will be Bluth Fables, which will see Bluth writing, narrating and drawing out short nursery rhymes in a storybook style. The Studio will be very transparent of the progress behind it as it goes. https://archive.is/EEtM7 I'm exciting but also sad at the same time since this is another showcase of the older generation picking up the slack for the younger one. The guy is 82 (about to be 83 tomorrow) and he won't be around forever. Will he inspire the newer generation to follow in his footsteps or will they be inspired by modern cartoons which have taught you to be lazy animators with a calarts style, treat cartoons as a therapy for your own issues, use cartoons to insult your fans if they don't agree with any of your opinions, cater to shippers because story be damn, make self inserts for your own ships and never striving to push the medium forward? They also have to deal with the possible gatekeeping in place if they want to go mainstream. I do wish for a renaissance of hand-drawn animation but I suspect it will be a one-off to the average viewer. I'm hoping I'm wrong because I want more of this instead of relying on foreign countries to fill in the position that America left behind.

Besides the fact they've existed as jokes before you people changed them to be more "serious" as slang, don't you realize how lazy and normalfag-ish that line of reasoning is, that black = bad/negative, white = good/positive, and that "being negative" should always be avoided? I was going to give this the benefit of the doubt that it was trying to model it after fertility goddess statues but they even have bigger breast than this Steven Universe reject. I've lived in the 80's and this is nowhere close to being 80's looking in the slightest. I don't think the comic industry has much life left in it, and that's not including how they've tried to cancel each other over the last few weeks. The really shocking thing is that the artist has over 600,000+ followers on instagram. Sure, it might be because it's mostly naked women posts but I would think people would have a little standard for their whack-it porn.

>>5056 They could just make female protagonists who are decent people and can appreciate men that might not be the highest on the totem pole, the same way Superman can love a highly flawed mortal like Lois Lane. But I guess it's not even the writers' fault. We'll believe a man can fly, but a woman that isn't a shallow bitch just suspends disbelief way too far.
>>5060 Men and women are different and each has different requirements for reproductive success. A man has to be impressive in feats (dominance, strength, resources, all around resourcefulness) or at least project such and perhaps most importantly needs to be respected by the women for top reproductive success. Getting back to Korra, all of the living and notable males in her show by the end who weren't old men were either mugging goofballs like Bolin and Varrick or an effeminate pussy like Wu or little kids like that Aladdin boy or already disrespected see Mako. Being a dyke was the only option left since there were no worthy men. That's the problem.

Glitch Techs Saved by Netflix for a S2 Anonymous 08/04/2020 (Tue) 18:13:51 No. 3457 [Reply]
I took a look at my kikeflix and spotted this. Looks like netflix continues in their crusade to burn investor money like it's no longer fashionable. I guess we get to enjoy more adventures of mexican dandy and thicc asian girl, plus token background characters, now with more dreamworks face. Has anyone here seriously considered pitching something to them? Between this and reanimating long dead shows, it seems that there's an air of desperation at netflix. Or is it the case that we're in the age of a cartoon revival as it's a medium that can be created with people working from home?
