Will WWE continue political parody tradition? Boliever 07/12/2019 (Fri) 08:50:49 Id:32a0de No. 144917 [Reply]
Democratic Primaries 2020 cosplay? I just came across this bit they did in 2008 where they parodied Obama/Clinton from the primaries. Any chance WWE might do this for the 2020 ones? Would be interesting to do a mass costume event for the 20 people who got to debate (10 per night) before they get eliminated for the next round.

what is that wrestling trope where you switch shirts? Boliever 07/01/2019 (Mon) 07:19:11 Id:1ecf66 No. 144696 [Reply]
shirt reveal? I remember I think sometime during the attitude era something involving DX and someone wearing their shirt underneath some other shirt and by removing the one shirt they showed their true allegiance to another group. Can anyone find the video of that? Seeing this YT comment made me remember this but I can't seem to turn it up. Is there a name for the trope? I feel like I've seen it done many times in wrestling, probably as a tribute to the first time, but the details are blurry.

Cute English girl takes on Japanese and Southern man Edition > What is sure to be a heated WWE Championship Match at WWE Money in the Bank will be made official tonight. >SmackDown Live General Manager Paige took to social media over the weekend to announce that she will be hosting a contract signing for the Last Man Standing Match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. >There is no telling what will happen when The Phenomenal One and The King of Strong Style are in the same room, as they brawled wildly the last time they shared the ring. What will happen between these bitter rivals as Paige presides over their contract signing? Charlotte Flair and Betchy Glynch to square off > Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will put their friendship to the test tonight, when they do battle on SmackDown LIVE. >The match was born out of some playful banter between the two pals, as each discussed why they would be the one to win the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. SmackDown General Manager Paige happened to be watching the exchange, and she declared it was “tea time” for the two Superstars before making the match official. >Who will earn a monumental victory heading into the career-changing Ladder Match? Naomi & Jimmy Uso to face Lana & Aiden English in Mixed Tag Team action > After their Dance-Off ended in a chaotic brawl, Naomi and Lana will be on opposite sides of a Mixed Tag Team Match tonight on SmackDown LIVE. Naomi will team with her husband, Jimmy Uso, while Lana will join forces with Aiden English. >A social media exchange between the two women, who are taking part in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, led to the Dance-Off. After their initial routines, the two seemed to have respect for each other, taking part in a tandem dance. However, The Ravishing Russian took advantage of the situation by dropping Naomi with a neckBREAKer and slapping Uso in the face. That set off a huge melee that ended with Naomi and The Usos standing tall in the ring. >Which tandem will reign supreme in this Mixed Tag Team showdown?

I didn't know Paige was back in WWE until today, guess that's what I get for taking a couple years off. I figure they'd never let her back after the sex tape but I guess because they wouldn't fire Xavier it would look bad. Maybe that's why they finally accepted Chyna? I would like to know if anyone has Paige's sex tape in high-quality MP4s you could share here. Preferably split into smaller clips.

announcer / commentator fail Boliever 06/18/2019 (Tue) 20:03:39 Id:d3fe7c No. 144302 [Reply]
We should have a thread for discussing moments when announcers and commentators calling the matches say dumb shit that makes no sense. I'll get the ball rolling for this one. Jeff Cobb is doing a stalled inverted hold before suplexing a guy (classic move, to disorient them so they aren't prepared to take the suplex) and announcer asks Cobb's upcoming opponent ROH Champ Matt Taven if he's prepared for that. Taven makes a logical response: he trains on an inversion table for long periods, so this doesn't bother him. Announcer then says "I don't think an inversion table is any match for a man with this strength" Segway made no sense: Cobb isn't wrestling an inversion table, Cobb isn't lifting an inversion table. It's merely a training device used to get used to a stressful position. This would be like if you asked a wrestler "could you lift this guy off your chest with your arms? He weighs 300 pounds!" and you respond "I bench a 400 pound barbell" and announcer says "I DONT THINK A BARBELL IS A MATCH FOR A MAN OF THIS STRENGTH" This guy should be retired, get some ex-wrestlers to replace him, they tend to call matches much better and deserve the spot more.

WWE June 2019 Megathread:Summertime edition Boliever 06/01/2019 (Sat) 23:32:19 Id:096aaa No. 143307 [Reply] [Last]
Heyman announces Lesnar will cash in on Rollins this Monday >After Brock Lesnar learned about the one-year clause in the Money in the Bank contract, the question on everyone’s mind was when The Beast would make his move. Now, Paul Heyman has put the matter to rest: It’s happening this week, and it’s happening against Universal Champion Seth Rollins. >Following the McMahon family’s opening of an executive review to determine Lesnar’s punishment for “disrespecting” the Money in the Bank contract, Paul Heyman went on the offensive, declaring that his client would take a proactive rather than reactive strategy and would cash in on Rollins this Monday. https://twitter.com/HeymanHustle/status/1134535304390545411 >There is still some suspense at play here. Heyman did not specify when The Beast would be cashing in, only that it would occur between the hours of 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET, "at a time of [Lesnar's] choosing." Still, that doesn't mean the title is Brock's for the taking. Rollins is one of the only men to crack the code of defeating Lesnar, and with the champion at least having some specifics to work with, his chances of a repeat are higher than Heyman and Lesnar are likely willing to admit. Not dead yet >WWE Super ShowDown will play host to a first-ever battle between The Undertaker and Goldberg, but both Superstars have been conspicuously absent since the match was announced. That’s fixing to change this Monday when The Last Outlaw rears his head on Raw just days before the bout. What he’s going to say is anybody’s guess, but tuning in will be essential to anybody wondering what’s on The Phenom’s mind … and, of course, whether he ends up having some unannounced company … Roman Reigns to team with The Usos to battle Drew McIntyre & The Revival >Roman Reigns’ rivalry with Drew McIntyre has fumed ever since WrestleMania 35, while The Usos and The Revival are just getting started. This Monday night on Raw, the two grudges will collide in a Six-Man Tag Team Match that pits Reigns and his twin cousins against McIntyre and the cocky “Top Guys,” who are already one-up on The Usos following a victory two weeks ago. Which team will walk out of Raw with bragging rights? These colors don’t run >Last week’s Raw brought with it the grim news that the injured Rey Mysterio will be forced to surrender the United States Championship, as a separated shoulder will prevent him from defending it. Samoa Joe, understandably, is licking his chops and for a very specific reason: The Samoan Submission Machine has already announced he’ll be waiting for Mysterio’s abdication to take back what he bolieves is rightfully his following a controversial loss at WWE Money in the Bank. Ladies first >Lacey Evans cast aside her partnership of convenience with Charlotte Flair on SmackDown LIVE when she got into a post-match brawl with The Queen, though that could end up being a bit of a double-edged sword for The Sassy Southern Belle. On one hand, now she has Raw Women’s Champion Stone Cold all to herself and as good of an opportunity as she’ll ever have to relieve The Man of her last remaining title. On the other hand, Evans now has no backup against The Irish Lass Kicker, and with Lynch having formed something of an alliance with Nikki Cross, that could leave Lacey down a man — so to speak — as she makes her move. Time will tell if her strategy pays off or if Evans has made a grave tactical error.

When you look at things objectively, with all biases removed, Sting is undeniably the best wrestler of all time. No one else was as versatile and well-rounded.
(73.73 KB 480x796 sting.jpg)
I only saw him in TNA but he was still good there despite being in his mid 40s. Definitely one of the best ever, but for someone that was the most popular wrestler for a number of years in the mid 90s, it feels like he's less known or less spoken of compared to guys like Stone Cold or even WCW's own Goldberg. Then again, probably because Sting didn't appear in WWE till 2015, whereas every other WCW guy went to WWE for at least a little while and were more relevant in the minds of the big audience. Also Chris Jericho is another name brought up for his versatility and capability for reinventing himself like Sting but Y2J has one over Sting in that he could be a good face and a good heel. Sting is great but maybe because he's too likable, he could never be a good heel, always cheered. Not too bad though, I still prefer Sting over Jericho.

Absolute state of zack ryder and guys like him Boliever 11/02/2018 (Fri) 14:58:13 Id:439bbb No. 130148 [Reply]
Are guys like zack ryder, tyler breeze or revival the ultimate cucks? They think so highly of themselves and at the same time beg for chances like "g-guys were good wrestlers, just wait till our turn comes…" while they perfectly know their time will never come. Why do they stay in the company, isn't betting on yourself and your own improvement more important than just getting a paycheck? Ryder should have left after vince sabotaged his popularity but he has no balls, a true cuck. Revival will keep whining and pleading to watch their matches on fucking main event. Breeze is "just happy to be there :)". People like them get nothing and deserve nothing. I feel it was a rib at them when they wrote that "fuck all these complacent superstarts who are just happy with what they get and never reach out for more" promos for Drew who is epitome of going away from wwe and improving so hard they want him back, protect him really hard and even considered putting him in that crown jewel UC match to make it triple threat (rumor via swole jew iirc). Even if he doesnt get into the match he's basically only guy who's bitchslapping braun strowman on weekly basis now. You HAVE to be a literal cuck to do shit like this

>>130439 Contradicts the overly promoted "fight for your dreams!" feel good talks
>>130440 >he's as boring as a dry wall. So is everyone else in fulltime wwe now. They made sure it's the company that draws, not individual wrestlers because that way no wrestler can leave and draw somewhere else.
One thing to keep in mind is WWE jobbers might still be paid better than headliners for ROH/TNA/NJPW so that could be why they stay. They could be hoping to be tapped if one of the main guys gets injured, or if they need a fresh villain. I still think the ultimate Zack Ryder is still to come. They did totally miss the boat with him, the time to build him was when Kane was trying to corrupt Cena by beating up Ryder, when Ryder was jealous of Eve Torres wanting Cena when Ryder liked Torres. HeartBROKEN Ryder should've become Kane's apprentice (EMBRACE THE HATE) when Cena rejected him, revamped his image, gone full dark side, and Cena should've jobbed to Ryder to elevate him as a main event villain. Ryder would be returning to his roots, he was Edge's flunky in La Familia after all. He could succeed Edge as the new ruthless heel just like Matt Taven succeeded Adam Cole in The Kingdom.
