Now, come now. Build your own settlements across the world that tie in with your own faction and a motherfucking starfort HQ. Sounds great, expect it's buggy, finicky and ultimately pointless. Same for in game weapon, armor and companion modding. Let's say power armor - beast of a concept and could make you feel like a fucking space marine terminator. Except it's so painfully tedious to maintain and ineffective in use that's there's hardly any reason to actually wear the bloody thing.
>As if 3 and NV had any.
They really didn't. You either stealth archer but with guns or backpedal while unloading lead. Even borderlands did a better job, here enemies just stand in the open or rush you. There was a mod for 3 iirc that made the enemies take cover, be capable of basic tactics like flanking and such. Made the game so much more interesting.
>What story does Fallout even have aside from the fallout?
The most believable one. Human greed and ZoG have fucked up the planet and it's up to you to take care of your own and find a place under the irradiated sky.
Obsidian for all it's faults made human conflict and impending war the focal point of NV. And brilliant of them. No super villain like bullshit plot well there is unfortunately but that's where the game falls apart in my opinion
, no trying to make you feel for some fag you only saw for one second. If NV has any human feeling motivation between it it's your own greed for power and wanting to get revenge. I can get behind that. Skyrim had the same idea but completely sidetracked in favor of different arcs that similarly got sidetracked in favor of yet more arcs. Crying shame but that way you only end up with the shallow shit it is.
