Crying to a video game Anonymous 09/13/2022 (Tue) 05:13:26 Id: deeb4c No. 689017 [Reply]
You've never actually cried to a video game right? Because I have. Post the times a game has made you emotional to the point you shed a tear. It doesn't have to be full on sobbing because at that point it would be pretty embarrassing. There's really only four games that made me emotional through my life of playing vidya. I've played all the Yakuza games and had emotional moments through pretty much all of them but the only times I've actually shed a tear were in Yakuza 4 and once at the ending of Yakuza 5. For Yakuza 4 specifically the scenes with Saejima with his speech at the arena and that prison escape scene with Hamazaki. The ending of FFXII really hit me hard because I really love this game. It's my favorite mainline FF game and I have no problem stating that. It got me emotional knowing I'm not gonna see these characters again, not experience their dialogue new for the first time and the music. Knowing the story and the adventure I felt progressing through the game and how it won't be a new experience for me anymore. That song at the end especially hit me hard. Tales of Berseria had a big emotional impact on me and it's not even my favorite Tales game, Vesperia is. But I love the cast in Berseria as much as I do Vesperia's. That scene with Eizen and Rokurou becoming acquainted with each other talking about Velvet's ambition and sharing drinks with each other was really touching for some reason. Seeing Velvet change throughout the story where she was really moody and always in a bad temper to actually caring about the friends she's made and smiling in her exchanges with them. The best skits to me were Eizen and his philosophical viewpoints on life. Hearing him explain his admiration for his captain, his love for his sister, the way him and Rokurou were like big brothers to Laphicet. Just like FFXII after playing the game knowing these characters won't be new to me anymore hit me a little. I felt the same way about Vesperia but for some reason Berseria just had a bigger impact on me. Maybe because Eizen and Magilou are my favorite Tales characters. Then there's FFXIV which I actually recently took a break from since Endwalker's launch. I've beaten Endwalker's main story and it did get emotional at the end but the time I truly actually shed a couple of tears were at the end of Shadowbringer's story. I can't even explain it really you just have to have played the game to understand. There was also the scene with Elidibus in 5.3 that got me teary eyed.

>>689017 I've been emotionally invested in shit, but never to the point where crying was a possibility. Movies get close sometimes but something about the nature of vidya prevents me from ever reaching that level.

I'm going to find you and I'm going to rape you. You'll never know who's going to take your tubby butt down and make it their fuckmeat by breeding with it. It could be anyone you meet in the future, at any point, any time, but the most arousing part is that you won't expect it, you never will; You'll live in fear. I'm going to take you when you're least aware, kidnap, undress, wax and shave you, then baste you in baby oil and shove a chastity cage in your balls and make Ron keep the key. You'll literally be impotent by force. You'll be his and my blobby slimy sephardic fuckgoblin, you'll make your wages by emptying our sacks of sperm on your cushy little plump tongue and you'll be good to swallow. I want to make your freckles shine with my spunk, you'll get your jewcy junky butt fat rammed like a jackhammer by me, and I promise I will make you cum from mincing your hole with my throbbing fat uncut cock. I crave your meat, your essence, your BODY I take what I want, and you're no different, you're a 5 star kosher meal, and I'm gonna make you feel like it, I'm going to feel you from the inside, and if you don't like it, I will beat you to death. More screenshots coming soon.

But yeah, when I have to pad the list out with hybrids that most people will never even hear about, let alone play - the industry is completely fucked.

Starting out with a banger, Art of Balance is addictive with its interesting and engaging puzzle mechanics, aesthetic and music. It's all a joy to the senses and the clever design keeps you coming back for more, each 'world' having different decorum to suit the mood each level wants to convey, the time of day and its color changing the senses, from purple irridescent hues of twilight, to the glowing pink dawn, and botanical greenery that adds a unique flair to every level, there's something in here for everyone looking to unwind. This game is a masterpiece all on its own, if you like abstracted contemporary design and high graphical quality, you can't miss this.

I recently picked up torchlight after it's been collecting dust on my steam-account for years and had quite a bit of fun with it. However, I know that there are a lot of newer games (diablo-clones) that does it's thing better, what would you recommend? I've been looking at "Victor vran" wich looks fun.

In my experience most ARPG's end up being "Diablo 2 but worse" the only one that even comes close to being as enjoyable as D2 is Grim Dawn with the expansions. The aesthetics are nice, plenty of build variety, pretty decent map and level design. So yes if you haven't tried it you should, it's the closest we'll probably ever get to a true successor to Diablo.

Games with In-Game Fan-Made Content & Community Anonymous 07/17/2022 (Sun) 15:12:55 Id: fd0487 No. 646766 [Reply]
I don't know if there's a term for games like this, but yeah, I want to compile a list of games that feature a feature that allows the fans, in-game, to make fan-made content that they can share with one another. The Little Big Planet games are an obvious example of this, as is its team's next creation: Dreams. Warcraft 3's Custom Maps comes to mind. Spore Dragon's Dogma? You can create and share pawns, but, the creative process involved with the pawns is just a character-creator. It's a bit basic, and I hope nobody makes similarly basic suggestions, especially considering my other mentions. I was considering giving the TES games an honourable mention since, while that would be modding and not in-game fan-made content, Howard does indeed acknowledge and welcome his game's modding community. Mods are mods, but if the game's creator is approving of the mods, it's like they're not mods, but in-game fan-made content. Nonetheless, I won't even give it an honourable mention. I've deemed mods to be a slippery slope. It opens the door to Minecraft being a possible suggestion. So, hopefully the rules are clear. Any suggestions?

>>671321 >>671324 When you have a world where money gives you power, people will try all kinds of trickery to get it. And so you get things like these. I mean let's cut at the roots. We are taught since birth to focus on getting as much money as possible since it's what gives us better or worse position in the jungle of life. And in such a culture, do you expect someone to have inhibitions in getting it? If you delete Valve, 30 other companies will pop up doing the same.

>>671307 >They appreciate the love they get and they give back. >Valve >Loving TF2 It took them almost the entire 'TF2 community' to make a stink so hard that they're forced to concede and update TF2 for bug fixes and hacking problems. And yes, there has not been any meaningful content for the past 4 years. That's how much they love TF2 (or any other IP besides Dota 2 and CS:GoY). Half-Life: Alyx is just a game shoved out the door to capitalize on VR, which is why people now even barely talks about it. Again, such a money-grubbing lazy fucks loving company who listens to their players.

Talk about recent released FPS, why newer games all suck and doom 2 is better, why boomer shooters are "fundamentally missing the point", what happened to supporting multiplayer, and the recent surge of indie-fast-paced-singleplayer-fps-with-over-the-top-artstyle. Yes there will be plenty of bait and sinkers, but after serious sam siberian mayhem there hasn't been a decent shooter released. Share your opinionated opinions and games you actually played

There is too many games to cover, so I will just post 9 from each major console/generation Notes on each: >Mobile <Pretty much any pokemon game here will do, I didn't hate any one of them altho I think games with third versions(or ultras in case of sun and moon) are pretty forgettable, Black/White 1 being an exception to this rule. Remakes are also outright better than originals, with the exception of ORAS, Emerald is still better. While I didn't hate it, XY was really mediocre. <Resident Evil 4 for mobile is actually rather decent, considering you can play it wherever you want and how faithful it is to it's big brother counterparts. The game isn't seamless, it's level based, but all the big moments are here and the game plays exactly like the console/PC counterpart to the tee. Game also has merc mode and actually lets you buy ammo from the merchant, a very welcome addition, most of the unlockables are also here, I would give it a try if you can still somehow get your hands on it <Pretty much all Ace Attorney/Investigations games also fit in here, I liked Investigations 2 the most tho <Age of War was originally a flash game, but it was ported over to mobile devices. Honorable mention goes to Android exclusive "The Wars" game that is much easier, but it also has a few more features, I would consider that game a remix of AoW >Xbox 360 <All Dead Rising games go on the list, DR1 is still a classic that you can't beat tho(and was a 360 exclusive for the longest time, unlike DR2) <Any and all COD games from that era go here, that includes the last gen ports of Ghost and Advanced Warfare, which are surprisingly decent(Black Ops 3 is another story) <Halo games are pretty interchangeable here, Reach is here because it was a good send off to Bungie <Altho I own a similar Mortal Kombat Kollection on PC(it was a midways classics collection, actually, it also had primal rage which was fun), I have fun memories of playing couch coop with friends so it's here instead. Honorable mention goes to Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the same reason >6th Gen <GoD and Colosseum are equally liked by me, but GoD is bigger and better so it's here <Ditto for Halo 2, plus it had online multiplayer, which I spend hours on even when 7th gen was way underway. I would probably still play it today, if the servers weren't shut down

>>686691 *I meant that for PC any 8th gen Zombies COD game will do Also, I did Gen 5, fuck it. I replaced Fallout 2 for PC with GTA Vice City, since it's my favorite entry and I played that one on PC Note: Metal Gear Solid was technically played on PS1 and not on PC(I got it from that anthology collection that came out for PS2, it had MGS1-3 with 1 being the PS1 release but PS2 could play it due to backwards compatibility). MGS didn't fit the bill anywhere else(since I played Gen 5 mostly on PC, with a little bit of GBC here and there), so I put it here. I guess it has a PC release, so it's technically not wrong, I would put Rainbow Six Rogue Spear(Not Athena's Spear, like I said in the last post) if MGS wasn't here
