Shin Megami Tensei V Anonymous 11/05/2021 (Fri) 04:33:02 Id: ceb6bd No. 458572
>Day 1 DLC >Doi is still making some shitty designs like Amanozako along the fact that designs like Demeter and Zeus are in the game >Seemingly minimal dungeons, the open world replaces them for the most part The plot is still up in the air though but all signs point to this game continuing the downward spiral of SMT.
You nigger complained the same way about MHW and look how that ended up.
>>458573 MHW was a multiplat with easy pick-up-and-play mechanics, this is just a retarded franchise that has gone on for too long.
>>458573 It will sell the best out of the series due to it being on the Switch and all but it will not stack up to games like Strange Journey and Nocturne.

>>458591 That's why I always follow the logic to go for nip releases for the text support, even if I have to pay extra money in return. It's been easily over 30 years of vidya history so far and you can't still fully trust official translations from supposed professionals. That said, I'm still busy with SRW30 which I bought in the japanese eshop for 18k yen with the ultimate edition so SMTV will most certainly wait around December.

>>458627 He didn't say YHVH tho. Hell, saying "god" doesn't mean much when many of the demons you can recruit are gods from various mythologies.

>>458572 >not emulating it
Here is the SMTV famitsu cover for this edition. How you guys liking his character design? Still sexually confused aren't you? >>458581 It's the most advertised and stylish looking SMT, of course it will sell well, especially after it being compared to Persona 5 so often it will probably bring it a bunch of those retards into SMT like lambs to the slaughter. >>458631 Why are you still supporting Nintendo in 2021. What do they offer you thats worth money that you can't get for free through piracy or emulation? Stop wasting your money anon.
Reuploading some of the released OST because no matter how much shit this game gets, you can't deny that it was an absolutely outstanding OST. Ferocity is a bit choppy though, that's definitely because of the rip.
>>458795 >Still sexually confused aren't you? No, not at all. The trailers showed the faggiest protag since Genshin Impact, and I've never been one for SMT (or persona for that matter), so that's two things against its favor is that how you use that expression?. If I would ever play an SMT game, I'd try out Strange Journey on a DS emulator, because anons here have praised that one quite a lot. I know there's a remake, but I don't think it was all that good.

>>458823 Well, it isnt really a fair comparisson for V's femboy, doomguy is the manliest SMT protagonist by far.
>>458823 >If I would ever play an SMT game, I'd try out Strange Journey SJ was actually my first SMT game. When I tried it out I didn't know what I was getting into and expected nothing out of it but fortunately (or unfornately) for me the game ended up being amazing and I quickly got addicted to it's well structured gameplay, compelling story and beautiful OST. I recommend the original over the remake personally because I fell in love with Kazuma Kanekos artstyle and having them abandon it in the remake threw the soul of the game out of the window. The remake also got a lot of extra fluff that isn't really needed for the SJ experience, if you want to check that out watch YouTube videos or read a wiki about it afterwards. >>458832 >doomguy is the manliest SMT protagonist by far. Absolutely, with Demi-fiend being a close second. Slaying hundreds or even thousands of gods, angels and demons by punching them in the face while shirtless is as manly as it gets, but hes a teenager.
>>458834 I argue that doomguy is manlier than demifiend because while demifiend punches the crap out of people, hes a teen edgelord, while doomguy is just a marine that doesnt get paid enough for this shit.

>>458795 >Why are you still supporting Nintendo in 2021. What do they offer you thats worth money that you can't get for free through piracy or emulation? Stop wasting your money anon. Because I get to decide whatever is more convenient to me, I don't buy or pirate for the matter of morality, that's stupid either way. I also like the Switch but I do have a preference towards handhelds in general. And piracy isn't that magical little fairy that can give you everything for granted, I can vouch that as a old Vitafag, where a lot of JP vita-related items turned out to be of my own contribution (meaning, things I've bought before sharing to others on NoPaystation or digital backups of physical-only releases).
>>458731 Hey yo yo, it's down with the kid's bro. They are cool and in with it!!, love me some pogs and simps in my heckerino gamerinos haha.
>>458731 Christ, is this real? Can anyone confirm that the JP side didn't do this intentionally in the dialogue? Sometimes they can do some meme-tier shit
>>458840 >Because I get to decide whatever is more convenient to me So you sink your money into it because you're not that smart and not willing to learn how to jailbreak or pirate stuff? You could have saved so much money dude but I won't stop you, it's your life. I like the switch but I hate nintnedo, they are already the post successful company in japan why would they need money from me when they already got their customer base of millions of cult like drones anyways? >And piracy isn't that magical little fairy that can give you everything for granted There's a switch store homebrew software where you can pirate literally every game that came out on the platform as long as you have an internet connection, in this case, Nintendo products are easy to crack open so yes, it is the case in this case. But if you ever wanted to save some money and play all the switch games you could ever want for free and learn the method I personally use then... 1. https://switch.homebrew.guide/ 2. https://tinfoil.io/ 3. https://github.com/carcaschoi/tinfoil-json If you're willing to do it then you're welcome in advance. Although your switch will get banned but who gives a shit Nintendos servers are dogshit anyways.
Just like SMT4, some of the designs look like Persona waifubait cancer. I only gave 4A a pass because it gives you the option to go full edgelord and kill off your Scooby-Doo gang friends. I would not pay money for this if I owned a Switch.

>>458920 >Something tells me fanservice is only wrong for you based on totally arbitrary factors like it being done by an artist Your analysis is shit, because I dislike the fanservice of SMTIV:A, because the characters and pandering are bland as they were in P4G. No one who posts here regularly should think otherwise. >>458930 Fanservice was the least of Fates’ problems. Camilla’s huge tits didn’t make the story bland and the localization awful. Covering them and reducing their size would not fix the game or make it better by any measure. >>458932 Do you think fanservice means story? I’m talking purely about sexy designs. SMTA’s friendship characters weren’t even that sexily designed.

>>458940 >Do you think fanservice means story I’m talking purely about sexy designs. SMTA’s friendship characters weren’t even that sexily designed. Again your analysis is shit and I know what you're talking about. I have no attraction out of characters whose personality are one to appeal to waifufaggots, because I ain't one of them. Yes I like boobs and ass, but I detest characters who are literal sex dolls and have little to no purpose for the main story other than worshipping the MC like in your average shitty isekak. I don't know why you're so agitated, because I criticized something that is out of place for SMT. They could of just made lewd monsters if they wanted to pander lewds.
>>458955 *Isekai*
>>458939 >Anon was right. You guys are cult like. >>458965 She looks like that one character that a female eromanga artist is always drawing, you know the one.
Lets just all agree that SMT4A is dogshit and not worth talking about. >>458959 It's not really moral, I just like free stuff and Nintendo's business practices, shitty servies and high prices for everything make buying their shit unreasonable. I'm not on some kind of crusade against Nintendo because I just want to play gaems but I merely gave you a way out if you desired but you called me autistic (which is right), so I called you cult like (which is also right). Being a paying customer to Nintendo is like willingly being in an abusive relationship, you give them your money and they give you bare bones and lacking features with jacked up prices while also handing you dogshit broken ass servers which used to be free and with no features that every other online gaming service has and why? Because they can, they see you as nothing but bags as money and also hate you.
>>458988 You might not be on a crusade against Nintendo, but Nintendo is on a crusade against anyone who enjoys their games. They have shutdown literally hundreds of fan-projects of all kinds while abusing and exploiting the fucked up Copyright system that Disney has made sure stays in place and being completely out of touch with how the internet works. Fuck Nintendo.
This thread is being derailed by cuckchan/Reddit faggots with a hateboner for moe and fanservice, report and ignore.

>>458951 >>458955 That’s the fault of the script and game then. It’s perfectly fine calling those shit. However putting the blame on sexy designs is what sjws want you to do. They want you to conflate sexy with bad so they can get rid of sexy. That’s why you have to be careful with your language. They would love for you to equate the word fanservice with things it doesn’t actually mean if it gives them a chance to remove lewdness from everything.
>>459026 Those designs are accurate to the myth, I'm talking about pandering shit like loli Demeter when she's suppose to be a mother goddess and Apocalypse's beach DLC.

>>459038 It seems like you're doing the same mistake as the other anon by assuming "Nintendo is my favorite company" just because I happen to buy Switch games. I guess I was also a Sony fanboy too because I bought Vita games before a more mature hack exploit became a thing around 2019.
(1.66 MB 423x234 Go Away.gif)

>>459058 Go back you fucking bad actor nigger.
>>459038 >No one said or did that What you did was conflate “fanservice” with a type of plot of character you didn’t like, which isn’t what the word means. This entire thing started because you used a word which is supposed to mean sexiness to mean something else. SJWs want those words conflated because they want you to seem like you’re bashing sexy things rather than specific character and plot cliches. Whether or not a character has appealing tits has nothing to do with how her character is presented.
>>459062 >You're autistic and shitting up this thread It's cool to put the blame on others and projecting your own flaws I guess.
>>459045 >Those designs are accurate to the myth Pixie maybe. Maybe. Angel? Yeah I don’t think there’s anything in the Bible that really points to that being accurate. Kaneko was just horny. And that’s fine. As for loli Demeter, well Greek gods could appear how they wanted. There’s tons of myths of them changing form, appearing in various guises. It’s no more outlandish than the bondage angel. As for the beach episode it wasn’t even that bad. The girls got some swimsuits and stood around doing stereotypical beach things until you decided to fight Mephisto. There was barely anything to it.
>>459045 >angels in skimpy S&M leather <Those designs are accurate to the myth Lmao no. They aren't. >Apocalypse's beach DLC. To the uncultured pleb, this seems like fanservice dlc. But it's actually a retelling of the Faustian legend about Mephisto. >"Mephistopheles would bring him every form of pleasure (particularly of the sexual type), and should it ever happen that Faust should say of the moment “Linger, thou art so fair,” then the devil could require his soul of him." Did you notice that Mephisto was giving Nanashi a dreamlike beach vacation full of beautiful girls and fun activities? Nanashi got trapped in this utopian beach in an endless time loop until you finally reject Mephisto's constructed reality https://youtu.be/T_QZ4A3PV0M
(500.67 KB 1436x2316 Ishtar.JPG.jpg)

I don't know why you guys are bitching about sexy female demons being in the game when they were for decades now going so far back as Ishtar from SMT2. Look at what one anon posted with those 2 sexy strange journey milfs, god I'd love to get snu snu from them. The only difference is that they're now in a different artstyle and some of them are DLC due to modern Atlus jewery. Who gives a shit about being biblically accurate or not? A good chunk of designs arne't even mean to be accurate in the first place, just cool looking, Metatron got his design because is sounds like Megatron ffs, God in the bible isn't some floating yellow head either from what I know. DLC is the real enemy here or your personal preference in artstyle honestly. But if you guys are having fun and want to keep arguing then ignore me and keep on going.
>>459026 Don't be disingenuous, there is a clear distinction between Persona-style fanservice and moe, and SMT having demon designs running the gamut from edgy to sexy to cute.

Ahem, sexyness and waifupandering are different things triggered fucking janny. Sorry for stating my wrongthink opinion.
>>459132 >They made harvest goddess into a lolibaba. I found it hilarious.
>>459104 Moe literally means cute, though, with an element of wanting to protect I suppose and several of Kaneko’s designs definitely strayed into that. I think your real issue is with the tone of certain games that you associate that artstyle with. You ignore or even like things like Pixie because you associate her with Nocturne and such. You associate Doi art with Apocalypse so you hate it. >>459135 Of all the jacks you pick the nigger.

>>459368 >At least bother playing up the famine angle or something, shit. Why do you think she is flat chested?
>>458572 Gameplay wise, SMT5 will probably be my favorite game. If there's one thing I liked about SMT4 and Apocalypse, it was that there were visible enemies in the overworld. If they touched you, the battle starts. But if you can avoid them touching you, you can also avoid battles too. I never been a big fan of the random encounter systems in SMT1, 2, Strange Journey, and Nocturne. You step on a seemingly empty floor or tile and suddenly a battle starts outta nowhere. I always preferred rpgs like Persona 3 & 4 or Paper Mario or Chrono Trigger where the enemies walk around in the overworld. in SMT5, it looks like the open world will have demons roaming around in real time. You can choose to engage them in combat or avoid them altogether. Thank god, finally. No more random encounters. And if the fusion system in recent Persona games are any indication, SMT5 will let you pick and choose the skills you want your demons to inherit. No more frustrating RNG fusion hell that the older SMT games had. Fusing the demon skillsets you actually want will now be a breeze. When they added this feature in the Nocturne HD remaster, it vastly reduced the headaches the original Nocturne gave me.
>>459552 To pander to the otaku crowd which is bad in many ways. Last thing we need is SMT becoming Fateshit which is funny since even that series has a more accurate Demeter. >>459587 Nocturne/DDS/Strange Journey will remain the peak when it comes to gameplay, considering they also have actual level design unlike the IV duology or potentially V's minimal dungeons.
>>459350 Kill yourself mo. >>459587 I don't think the lack of random encounters makes up for how shit P3/4, SMT4 and Apoc are. I also doubt it will make up for SMT5's other shortcomings.

On the subject of Strange Journey, while not exactly the same, check out Etrian Odyssey and Lost Heroes 1 and 2 on the PSP, 3DS and Vita(because I can't remember which releases were multiplat at the time), they are from the same devs and I recommend them for dungeon crawler fans. >>458847 Only have the jp switch version totally legitimately out of the new Nocturne releases and the nip doesn't translate to anything near as meme-like. It's roughly the equivalent "This beauty really tickles my fancy / enlarges my pole / got me hot and bothered" and if the nips wanted to completely meme it up they'd do the Gintama thing and draw references to dicks and the Nyoi-bo Son Goku wields. >>458930 You joke anon but you have to remember, the normalfags and avatarniggers loved the fanservice in Fates, they disliked everything else, which is why they get easily excited when Fateshit gets into their shitty gacha. And sensible people see the game for the garbage it is. >>459336 >Greek fertility goddess She was the Goddess of the Harvest and agriculture, the whole "fertility of the earth" comes mainly from english translations since the original greek had a phrase that could be translated like that. >>459966 (Nice) You seem to misunderstand something though, and some anons here as well : Otakushit and moeshit are the fate of all nip media simply because most of the old creators are retiring, have retired or worst, have passed awayI'm not even go on the countless cancer deaths of actually somewhat young creators over the years, like the recent passing of the guy who created Soulgain for Super Robot Wars and a lot of the younger generation, be they very late gen y or gen z : >Do not grow up with the same inspirations their previous generation grew up >Do not have the same thirst for knowledge nor care to find out about cool stuff like Kaneko did whenever he rummaged his local library and filled entire interviews about myth shit >Do not give a fuck about anything beyond the most basic of consumerist media and specifically only consume that, which is shown in how incestuous the creative process in Japan is nowadays and in many cases that forces several old creators that are still in the game to conform to those standards either by necessity(initially what Type Moon did before everything went off the fucking rails) or because the higher-ups / stock holders pressured them. So creative shit like Kaneko's designs and artstyle or something like the extremely ambitious late PS2 / PSP / Gamecube titles aren't gonna happen anymore exactly because of those reasons and the sterile climate Japan itself has somehow bred through the newer generations. It is extremely sad and pathetic to an extend but I'd rather take that over the cancer the overseas fans often want to bring to Japan. >the new label Beyond the really big happenings, I don't even touch social media nor care to learn the faggot speak those absolute wastes of skin try to spread to the rest of the world.

>>460082 The translation of the original release wasn't the most accurate but yeah the english version of the remaster has a lot of text changes in comparison. Reminds me of Yakuza 4 remaster that had the rape joke removed in the english text among other things (additionally the japanese release altered mentions of okama into the more politically-correct term 女装 and Akiyama's jab at the bar owner) https://youtu.be/poXiDvYcOgc
>>460191 >>460082 >faggots don't understand the difference between a literal translation and adaptions Burgers should have an opinion on what adaption should be seeing how they barely consume foreign media. That's not to say I justify SJW slipping things in or modifying/removing text to fit their narrative, but bitching about some words being shifted around is a moot point when japanese is a language that sounds retarded when translated literally because you can't translate a lot of contexts. Adding hip words work, but that's very unprofessional unless that's what you want to convey, ie, it's a young person talking "cool" in Japanese, or the context of the character would make it look like he would use those words. I don't know the exact context the demon is talking about, or what idioms he is using in the original Japanese, but I seriously doubt a demon like that would ever use the word simp. So the problem is not the words being shifted, it's how they are used. If the word were used by some fatass otaku, no one would bat an eye, which is what makes the difference. tl;dr the problem is not how adaptions work, the problem is who is adapting them. t. spic into dubbing

>>460193 >but bitching about some words being shifted around is a moot point when japanese is a language that sounds retarded when translated literally because you can't translate a lot of contexts. It's more the proofs piling up (and the severity of them) that can make a game translation overall mediocre imo. There is the fact it's still hard to fully trust the supposed professional translators for japanese videogames, because they can either bear a grudge against the medium itself or are not well-versed in both the foreign language & their native tongue, sometimes a combination of two.
>>460201 The companies who hire these useless niggers also share a part of the blame. If they didn't spring for the cheapest guy who can read kanji, these failed writers and too-incompetent-for-high-tier-translations-like-documents idiots wouldn't get their foot in the door.

>>460315 Yeah, I did some digging, and this is what I found: https://archive.fo/VGMFW >As I've already told you, Mr. Meguro left Atlus at the end of September 2021 to start his own company. He is the sound composer of the "Persona" and "Shin Megami Tensei" series, and now he is going to be an indie game developer. >This title is a "stealth RPG" that combines elements of a stealth game, in which you use cover actions to penetrate enemy territory, and a turn-based RPG. Set in a devastated world after a nuclear war, the player becomes a member of a PMC (private military company) and carries out missions. The story seems to be about how humanity learns about "true love" in the midst of fierce battles, and how humanity innovates. >Originally, Mr. Meguro was developing an RPG with guns that he had planned at Atlus, but it did not go well. When he presented the project again within the company, his enthusiasm was recognized and he was told that it would be difficult to develop within the company, but that it would be fine if he could develop it on his own. >He then applied for the Game Creators Lab, a project by Kodansha to support creators, and was selected as a finalist, which allowed him to receive support. He then decided to quit the company to focus on development. >At the end of the interview, Mr. Meguro said, "This is my first year as an indie game creator, and I hope you will watch over me warmly. I'll continue to compose music as well, so I hope you'll support me in both areas. >In conjunction with the announcement, the Steam store page for the game has also been released. Let's check it out as well. >Machine-translated with DeepL. Game looks pretty weird. Reminds me of Metal Gear Ac!d somewhat. Bits of Shin Megami Tensei V's Ending got leaked. There's no chaos ending this time around plus there are two extra ending in New game plus on whether or not you stay united or separate from Aogami. There's a fourth unknown ending allegedly. Near the ending you choose occur near the end of the game and supposedly the endings are beneficial to humanity in some way except maybe Ichiro's route. Also, YHVH's isn't in this game since he's straight-up absent and possibly dead. Aogami's brother Is Hayao Koshimizu, their appearances aren't similar for no reason. He also possesses the ability to fuse with humans similar and becomes an entity similar to Nahobino with Ichiro. Lucifer takes the role of god in the "neutral" route where you destroy the throne. Not sure if he's the final boss that replaces the second Nahobino in this one. Tao becomes a demon ally supposedly based on the Greek name for the mother of Jesus.

This game is actually so shit it's unreal, all this applies to hard mode which I'm playing >MC can only spec 1 stat point per level up (gets 4 points, 3 are automatic) >You cannot use stat increases items on your MC >if you feel like you botched your build, fuck you I guess now? >Automatic stat points are also predetermined so you can't try and game the system to build uniquely, regularly have shit like 29STR and then 14 everything else >Buffs are beyond weak, being single target until later in the game (Using compendium fusion (actual cool mechanic, like reverse fusion but also shows all possibilities with every demon in compendium) I seen 0 demons with multi target buff/debuff skills even at level 30-45) also only stack 2 times but it's not even worth doing. >Genuinely so weak early game they're worthless, took 70 damage and then after a debuff on them took 64 (LIKE FUCKING WHAT?) >No reason to not just run multi target skills exclusively because they even on a bad roll will get higher dps then any single target and bosses are the only things you need to worry about fighting. >Literally no reason to not walk into every event fight with full magetsuhi which currently gives you on almost all demons a skill to have all your moves crit (including spells) (Magetsuhi skills don't even cost a turn when you do them but it does for enemies) It's literally start the fight having 8 turns of attacks for don't, non choice. >MC finds a 8hit skill right at the beginning of the game >Game is purely a DPS race in combat, there is absolutely no extra thought into it, closest thing to a unique strategy I found was a demon had a skill that regenerated mp on status effect causing but that don't work on bosses so worthless >First boss is just a DPS sponge who you buy 3 of a fire shield item to invalidate or get out DPS'd >Demons are extremely homogenous demons level 20-30 can feel exactly the same as demons level 6-10 just with higher stats >App points are back but even more locked off behind game progression then before >to get app points you need to find midgets on the world map hidden like a random collectable (5 points per find, stuff can cost 10-50+) >also can just find cum cubes that have 50 points or kill blue Mitama on the map for 10 (Neko Shogan has Freikrugel as a magetsuhi skill which kills them, no reason not to have Neko Shogan in the party or stock because of this) >Level design is completely a straight line with offshoot dead end paths for quests and collectables like cubes and midgets, not seen anything I'd call a dungeon after 5 hours (Made the worst level design on the planet and then just locks off gameplay mechanics behind needing to pretend there's more places that are worth going because a midget is behind a corner up some stairs that gives 5 app points) >Money you get from random fights is absolutely worthless and doesn't even cover healing from the fights so you need to go SMT4/A relic hunting for money (40 macca for a fight or 1000 from interacting with a vending machine that dropped a cloth mask, hmm) >You attack enemies on the world map and they get first turn regardless (not even a speed check thing sometimes early game enemies just get first turn despite you back attacking them by surprise, attacking them doesn't even do a bit of damage like in DQ11 or SMT4 so IDK what the point of attacking them is because it can still be your turn walking into them without attacking but it defo shows a hit effect when you do hit them so again IDK) The game is like if you like nocturne so much you'd play it without any of the qualities that made that game good in any way without even having good points of its own, IGN was unironically right for calling it persona without the soul but not for the reasons they thought it was.

Off topic from V but damn, why is Soul Hackers 3DS like the best Atlus remake by miles. >New content is an optional dungeon you load into from the main menu, doesn't compromise the story to add it and gives really nice new bosses >New demons are also all optional being demons that got redesigns since the original like Thor and Odin so new designs get sprites in the old style which is cool or it's demons from devil children who's not been seen for over a decade >60 FPS dungeon crawling with the nicest depth of field on the 3d effect if you ever gave that gimmick time of day >Fights run on 4 times speed, a complaint with the original is animations take decades but now when combat starts it's one of the fastest in the series now because they genuinely thought to fix that issue people had >preserved the saturn cutscenes and reanimated a few of the bigger ones in the opening >gave it an opening >Can just choose to play it as the original experience with just QOL without anything being effected and not even having to see the new content, like man, it's so good, makes redux and it's forced being told original endings are bad feel even more stupid because their last remake was this damn good.

Will say there's no point *not* going into a boss fight without full gauge. Might just be my emulator as well, but I can't see the gauge when I'm not in battle, so it makes it hard for me to know when I have a full gauge, but again, this could be the emulator.
>>461858 I think it's because it was never released in the west originally and knew they could sell it as essentially a new game so they barely touched it aside from the obvious flaws. >New content is an optional dungeon you load into from the main menu, doesn't compromise the story to add it and gives really nice new bosses This one is due to how the bonus dungeon for the Saturn version was done. It was effectively an entirely separate game (on its own disc distributed separately) that used your save file of the original.

Why do you think the average noarmaltard wants only "simulation-like experiences" and are now fascinated with the metaverse shit ever since Second Life popped up, before migrating to MMOs that promote "guilds and communities"? Because they care about the simulation aspects of those games rather than the game itself, that's why you have the IGN fuckers say shit like >SMTV is like Persona 5 without the soul because it doesn't feature the retarded social link system. >Cawadooty / Gaylo / Shootybangbang <Army simulation, usually of the american kind, with your war buddies >MMOs or just WOW clones <Work / activity simulations, being in a guild is basically the pleasant workaholic environment the average normalfag seeks to be in his life >Nusona / JRPG with romance / friendship elements <Friendship simulator because deep down normalfags are utterly incapable of forming true bonds with other normalfags >ANY FUCKING BIOWARE GAME <Life simulator, right down to marriage and death, I'm not even kidding, look up how many choke up when remembering their life as Cisquisotor or Commander Jean-Luc Shepard >Yakuza? <Meme'd to death as being an epic simulation of what a man's life should be by jewtubers, instead of being SEGA's equivalent to "wacky wahoo pizza man and friends going on wacky beat'em adventures" I just want to have vidya back.

>>462582 >I hope the day comes were all this burst and this niggers need to get an actual hard labor job. They'll just move on to the next grift. These people just look to grift the next sucker. The problem with gatekeeping is that like technology is out of anyone's hands. Depending on how old you are, try and remember back in the days of the old pcs, if you were fortunate enough to have Windows 95 or 98. I remember when my family got the first PC back in 1998 a family friend actually gave it to us, I was extatic when I realised what you could do with it, shitty internet connection, phone-net LAN connection and abysmall speeds not withstanding. And I was 8. So imagine my shock when I got Windows XP later when I got my own pc and suddenly I found on the net that shit like emulators, roms, fansubs / scnlations and all that are suddenly completely illegal and we should all be ashamed of ourselves, while the forums of a few sites suddenly got flooded by new members that couldn't even type right and didn't understand the basic guidelines or how everyone had an email adress by then. It was ludicrous. By the time I entered my final years of high school, everyone had Facebook. And when I say everyone, I mean even the fucking 100 year old grandmas that remembered fucking the Great War had facebook accounts, that's how aceesible and dumbed down tech was. What I want to say is that gatekeeping doesn't seem to work anymore because back in the day, the simple issue of tech requiring investment and enthusiastic dedication detered a lot of people but now it's open season. That's not to say people need to quit and let their hobbies get flooded but I'm pretty sure there's a smarter solution to all this, smart enough to destroy the blackpill and deter the normalniggers from fucking more shit up.

Now people already give you all the info you need to appear you're part of the clique and even give you pointers on what to say about it. I'd wager most people don't even play or even finish the series/games they latch on so hard since they can watch a 5 minute video explaining what happened or even explaining the inside jokes.

Game got officially, effectively leaked everywhere and now even yewtubers are going past the "permitted" first hour of the game. Guess we'll just wait and see, a few more anons here must have finihed the game at least once if the leaks about four endings and a robust new game+ content in a vein similar to Strange Journey's due to pseudo-allignement are true. >>462627 >I was talking about the e-whore entertainment industry. Its a parasitic group of people. Don't assume they are a seperate breed. >You needed to pay a fee to understand or follow a series. Eh, debateable, free shit was always there one way or the other. I got into Doom without having to pay a dime because as kids we all gathered at a friend's house and played Doom episode 1 on his big brother's professional pc, who just happened to have Doom himself. When we all got our own pcs, the Dooms, Quakes and what have you that we used to play thanks to the brother, were available and more widespread than before but our dedication, love for the games and time investment as you pointed out is what made is part of that following, even if we don't go to forums about idsoft games, we kinda knew the series inside out at that point in time, we were aware of the jokes in the limited european community etc. It's due to those experiences that I'd argue that maybe wikis aren't cancerous for that reason they're cancerous for a whole lot other reasons but the mainstream popularity of vidya as a hobby did give more power and more value to those wikis, since they decreased the amount of time an average normalcattle had to spend to learn basic things, so they can just return to meme-ing about the game they never played nor experienced, while flicking away at their phones. >>462672 >>462674 Delete yourself, fagpill. Keep in mind the following review is someone who played SMT Nocturne for True Demon ending, and the persona games. Though I was too much of a bitch to finish Strange Journey Having played the game past the first boss for a bit, it definitely gets a bit better after that slog of a first area. The combat feels a lot more fair as far as me being able to avoid bullshit. The miniboss locked on the "abscesses" give status effects a time to shine without trivializing the fight. I have yet to see a dungeon, but the overworld movement is, to me at least, very satisfying and smooth. You can tell who the developers liked out of the demons as they got super special donut steel "unique" moves with flashy animations, and they tend to be the newer demons so far. One thing I found interesting is that earlier optional quests did seem to effect my alignment, as I failed a check a little bit after for being too lawful. This is right after I got a set of quests that boiled down to one demon telling you to kill the other and vice versa, with obvious law vs chaos sides. I like how some demon negotiations are just a stat check (ex. Demon says "Arm wrestle me!" and if you're stronger you get the recruit). Buffs and debuffs have become far more useful at this part of the game (though Sukunda does little so far), and the minibosses have started using them. I don't really like the nu-demon designs but Kanekos art looks as amazing as ever. So far, I daresay it's a good game. Still basically a hallway though.
>>462818 Why not? Nothing stops the Chinese from spending money buying good press from actors outside of China who might use tor for all their shitposting. It wouldn't even have to be very expensive.
>>464423 > I like how some demon negotiations are just a stat check (ex. Demon says "Arm wrestle me!" and if you're stronger you get the recruit). Buffs and debuffs have become far more useful at this part of the game (though Sukunda does little so far) That's actually been a thing for some titles now, I think either SMTIII Maniax or IV made it like that, since the old titles had your intelligence be tied to the negotiations checking and how easier demons would join you which is the only reason old smt guys needed INT compared to their partners but base SMTIII changed it to be entirely reliant to Moon / Kagutsuchiphases before Maniax and Strange Journey introduced different kinds of checks in dialogue not related to Doomguy's stats which is probably for the best given how rng could fuck you over compared to the far better and more controlled environment of literally any other SMT game. >>464619 >whoosh
>>464909 I remember demons in SMT 2 also challenging you to dance-offs sometimes that were dictated by your magic stat, I think.
>>464920 Yeah, the whole furious dance meme and banner is from SMTII. I didnd't know it was dictated by INT though. I hate how nobody in Atlus can fucking decide about status conditions being tied to vit, luck or whatever the fuck they think next. Just pick one and keep it locked already.

As a disclaimer, I am basically having to savescum my playthrough because the emulator is so unstable it's crashing about every 15 minutes or so. Do keep that in mind when I'm taking about difficulty as I basically always have a save just a few minutes old for anything. Not like the game discourages this. Alright, ten hours in, just beat the second boss. Playing on hard, honestly getting some weird Digital Devil Saga vibes as far as how fights usually flow. Second big boss was fucking annoying and literally just a "do you understand how to build a team to counter elements" test. I am noticing a disturbing pattern that all boss fights, big or small, devolve too. >boss has super powerful move with OC animation >boss will not use it until it's Magatsuhi gauge is full >boss spends an entire turn charging it's Magatsuhi gauge >giant sign that says "throw a dampener now" That component isn't that deep. I would say with the second boss I was given more a reason to not just spam "All crits" to win. I got a miracle that gives slight health and MP recovery when I start the turn with a full gauge, so it turned into a fight of attrition. Not the funniest way to fight a boss, but at least it's something? I completed all quests bar one before the second boss, as that final boss was obviously the end of the first hallway. That exception of one quest literally has the dialogue "come back when you've progressed further in your journey" and I assume that is to be taken seriously. Otherwise, only one pair of quests has been interesting, the rest have been... pretty lackluster. Same old "find my 3 X" or "kill 5 Y" type deals. There was a nice two parter I guess, but it boiled down to "fight boss" then "fight other boss". Not exactly deep. The only other one that comes to mind is where I had to run around one of the late game demons that prowl the map without getting caught while stealing an item, I felt like it made good use of the overworld controls. Was incredibly pissed off at false dialogue choices, right before the second boss you get cockblocked by some angels who ask you to prove you're not a bad demon or whatever. There's a dialogue option for "force your way through" and I was excited I was going to be able to stomp some angel ass, but then Aogami said "just do what they say" and I was forced to do the fetch quest regardless. Really fucking pissed me off, especially given that immediately afterwards all the angels in the area are brutally murdered anyway, me killing two wouldn't mean anything different happens. Felt very forced and stupid. I do feel the game is a bit *too* generous with resources. I've been showered in free money from vending machines, the four magatami's give Money, Glory (for app skills), Rare Candies for demons and Rare Candies for MC. The only one that doesn't have a reliable respawn timer on the map, as far as I could find, was the glory one, so I suppose they don't want you grinding those as opposed to finding Miman. Speaking of which, you can just invalidate the entire "searching aspect" by just paying a demon at the end of map for their locations for the pitiful amount of 2500 Macca. This is borderline retarded as I believe that price doesn't change with the number of Miman found. Personally, I would have had it so that you pay this asshole 2500 Macca per a Miman's location as that would reward players for combing the map besides glory, but, instead, I could have avoided all that, just gone straight to the end, and paid to know where all 50 on the map were, and just get them that way. Real kick in the teeth. From here on out, it's plot spoilers and complaints concerning similarities with Persona, if that matters to you, you know what to do. So it turns out God made a fake Tokyo to house all of Tokyo's population after the original Tokyo got overrun somehow. This has been going on for 18 years. The "apocalypse" you slip into is the "real" Tokyo that's already destroyed. Immediately after the second boss we teleport back to "fake" Tokyo. Where I get to discover that 2 out of my High School classmates are super secret agents for fighting demons and a third just got deputized into being one too. Fucking strong Persona vibes. I then get told I have to go back to High School because I'm still a teenager. Again, STRONG FUCKING PERSONA VIBES. Most humorous part is the reveal that the leader of the super secret demon hunting group in Tokyo is the Prime Minister himself. I burst out laughing when this was revealed. That's all I get for now. I once again feel like I can buy my way out of all my problems, which isn't the most deep way of playing, but I have to put some though into my purchases.
(14.87 KB 295x342 Fuck_you.jpg)

>>465411 >Strong Persona vibes It's the same team that made the Mania SMT3 version and later went on to remake several version of P2, P3 and P4 before making SMTIV and IV Apocalypse. Of course it's going to be Persona-like. As for Digital Devil Saga the endings have been leaked and the game tries to goad you that after Lucy and co, nothing changed and the Brahman is muh le true final enemy, tomboy-chan despite the fact that his champions got their cheeks fucking detached from their body when Demi-fiend decided to look their way. Not only that, the faggot priest that was giving off major villain vibes is Amitahba and the game treats him like virtuous despite the fucker wanting to recreate the universe and re-trap it in the Mandalla now that Lucyfag got his ass opened at the end of the game by a blue baired retard. Who then proceeds to imply that despite Aogami disappearing, your faggy main character retains all his power, he exists outside of time and space and in the new reality he created that exists in the Mandalla, everyone exists again, including pre-demon MC but demons will get birthed again because "muh humanity is bad and gives rise to demons, dibs bedora" Meanwhile, they treat the game where you destroy the throne and leave the universe as is, implying that humanity gets all the tools and allies it needs to fight against them in a technopunk future similar to MTII's and SMT2's, with humanity eventually winning and attaining true happiness, to be a shitty ending and lesser ending than the True ending despite missing just one beat from the story As far as story goes, someone needs to slap the entire Atlus staff and especially the current SMT fags and give them some basic fucking lessons in the series because that's driving me against the wall at this point. And it's obvious why they did it which makes it even more infuriating considering I like the games it aims to replace as "superior". As for the gameplay, it's mostly ok. The Magatsuhi mechanic turned out to be a fat fucking load of nothing in the end and "the enemy gathers Magatsuhi" replaced Beast's Eye as the next meme, except Beast's Eye was badly implemented compared to the obvious telegraph of the current system that limits your options. And combined with the stupidly absurd limits on buffs and debuffs that make you feel closer to Pokemon than fucking SMT, along with the retarded half-hearted system of SMTIV and IV A, where you can carry you level and stats instead of just your compendium(something I wanted as a QOL change in the re-release of SMT3) but then the game goes and tells you that Lv99 is indeed the final level but now you have to farm incenses because the stats go up to either 500 or 999 and I want to fucking tear my teeth out. What the fuck is wrong with maxing the stats at 99? Why the fuck is this concept so wrong for these past two SMT games. Persona fucking does it, you'd figure the team that has experience on some Persona re-releases would tak the fucking hint and do it that way.
>>465581 You can break the level cap of 99. It’s a unique miracle for doing the law route. Just like Michael and Maria are exclusive to that route. Each route has different bonuses and miracles that unlock when you do them.
>>465613 >You can break the level cap of 99. It’s a unique miracle for doing the law route. So it's not just demons and unique demon fusions you get per playthrough, you get miracles as well? I saw a list of miracles and one of them had the whole "Stat up per level" that demons have had since SJ but now as a miracle for the MC as well. If that's the case, is that why you get the miracle to break level 99? Because of the Tensei / New Life split for New Game+ and the apps reset or something?

>>465769 Sorry I was wrong. I misread what the miracle did. It allows you to recruit demons regardless of your level. Of course by the time you get it it’s virtually useless. But yes the two thrones routes have exclusive miracles (the other one let’s you replace any skill when you fuse a demon even their first three but again with essences that barely matters). The miracles only unlock if you have the right alignment for the ending it’s one of the two “punishments” for going for an ending against your supposed alignment, the other being a near 700k Macca price tag for the quest that unlocks the route exclusive demons. I don’t think the destroy throne route has a unique miracle. Michael and Maria are exclusive to the pure law route, Inana is exclusive to the ploytheistic law route, and Danu is exclusive to the kinda chaos, kinda neutral route.

>>466129 It's ok, info on the Miracles is still coming in but info slowed down due to the normalfags are salivating on the thought of a PS4 port due to supposedly finding leftover data for a PC build...go figure that out. I think that this kind of miracle is one of those that are defacto carried over if you choose the NewBorn option that resets everything except for your compendium and specific miracles you bought, which if one goes for min-maxing early, I can see it being useful. Kinda. The whole getting Macca instead of the miracles for not alligning with your pseudo-law-chaos choices is extremely gay. How can they fuck up the most basic shit SMT3 solved when it tried making a game not centered on allignements? At least Demi-Fiend is a fun fight and even nips are struggling with it on normal and hard. Funny how Demi-fiend still doesn't go completely all out and by the time you supposedly defeat him, he just goes "cool shit bro, wanna do this again?" as if nothing happened. The game also has a lot of small hidden conversation references to SMT III with one of them being related to pic uploaded.
I'm not vey long winded so I'll get to my point and say what I have in mind. I beat the game at level 85 and got the Neutral ending by killing my friends again. Murakumo + Charge or Donum Gladi is an absolutely goat combo to use when fighting bosses, I barely scraped by some of the harder later bosses like Odin and only managed to beat them with that strategy. You can't just use your tarukaja/rakukaja/sukukaja buffs and turn your brain off and go full retard anymore you actually have to set shit up properly and actually maintain both your buffs and debuffs to keep yourself on top of things, this is coming from a guy who beat SMT1(N)/2(N)/3(TD)/4(L)/SJ(N)/SH/Persona5, so I know my SMT. The ending and final bosses was lacking and I feel like I was kinda missing out on something, I was worried that the alignment system was like SMT4 so I was being a nice guy as usual early on but then I started to compensate and become an absolute dickhead edgelord but I don't think it had any effect on the ending, maybe it did. >>465581 >the magasuhi mechanic is this games version of beat eye You're actually right about that but its coutnerable this time around and both you and the enemy party can do it >>461827 Dude I get the feeling that you're actually just shit at the game and a miserable fucking person. There are people like you for every new game that comes out, people like you probably shat on nocturne when it came out nearly 2 decades ago. I personally think the game was an absolute fucking blast. Let me try to see if I can cover everything you said in my next post.
>>461827 This is like a review of a person who played the game for only a few hours, (which is correct). >MC can only spec 1 stat point per level up (gets 4 points, 3 are automatic) Its been like that since SMT1 you fucking idiot, have you never played any SMT game before? I do appreciate the additional points you get due to it keeping you balanced somewhat, without it we would all no doubt get curbstomped or what not in some way or another further down the line in the game. In SJ the stat gain you get from the beginning of the game is completely random, you can pick and choose for yourself but they they learn towards a specific stat, i never seen a human being complain about that. >You cannot use stat increases items on your MC Yes you can, the items are called balms of (stat) and you get stat increasing items for demons too, which are the (stat) incenses >if you feel like you botched your build, fuck you I guess now? Thats almost physically impossible, the random stat boosts always make sure you're balanced in some way. >Automatic stat points are also predetermined so you can't try and game the system to build uniquely, regularly have shit like 29STR and then 14 everything else Why the fuck would you want less stats? >Buffs are beyond weak, being single target until later in the game (Using compendium fusion (actual cool mechanic, like reverse fusion but also shows all possibilities with every demon in compendium) I seen 0 demons with multi target buff/debuff skills even at level 30-45) also only stack 2 times but it's not even worth doing. >Genuinely so weak early game they're worthless, took 70 damage and then after a debuff on them took 64 (LIKE FUCKING WHAT?) Yeah thats how they work, they stack and add up, you gotta add another debuff on top of buffs to see an actual difference, git gud >No reason to not just run multi target skills exclusively because they even on a bad roll will get higher dps then any single target and bosses are the only things you need to worry about fighting. Groups of enemies appear all the damn time anon, especially in the later areas, multihit attacks like maziobarion saved my ass countless times in the final dungeon (which was honestly pretty meh) >Literally no reason to not walk into every event fight with full magetsuhi which currently gives you on almost all demons a skill to have all your moves crit (including spells) (Magetsuhi skills don't even cost a turn when you do them but it does for enemies) It's literally start the fight having 8 turns of attacks for don't, non choice. >MC finds a 8hit skill right at the beginning of the game Yes? And? It's spread out through multiple enemies and is weak as fuck unless you make a specific strength build for it, if you don't do you buffs and debuffs during boss fights you will still get you ass beat with or without Aramasa. >Game is purely a DPS race in combat, there is absolutely no extra thought into it, closest thing to a unique strategy I found was a demon had a skill that regenerated mp on status effect causing but that don't work on bosses so worthless Yeah it is, better fucking get those buffs and kill the boss before you run out of MP like every other SMT game, but trust me dude it gets much harder further down the line. Juggling MP, HP, buffs, DPS, the magasuhi gauge becomes quite the ordeal, back in Nocturne I just put on the buffs and only have to worry about DPS and healing, you had less to deal with in general before. >First boss is just a DPS sponge who you buy 3 of a fire shield item to invalidate or get out DPS'd First boss was Hyrda you dump faggot, white flash at the end of a fight means it was a boss. >Demons are extremely homogenous demons level 20-30 can feel exactly the same as demons level 6-10 just with higher stats In this game in any kind of battle even a 5 level difference makes things much easier or much harder depending on your situation, when you are around 5 levels over demons out of combat some of them tend to run from you and also give you much less EXP. At level 20-30's demons level 6-10 will hardly deal any damage to you, they become a joke. >App points are back but even more locked off behind game progression then before Okay? And? Is gaining features and mechanics through progression supposed to be a bad thing? >to get app points you need to find midgets on the world map hidden like a random collectable (5 points per find, stuff can cost 10-50+) >also can just find cum cubes that have 50 points or kill blue Mitama on the map for 10 (Neko Shogan has Freikrugel as a magetsuhi skill which kills them, no reason not to have Neko Shogan in the party or stock because of this) Thats actually pretty smart, stealing that for when I play the game again. >Level design is completely a straight line with offshoot dead end paths for quests and collectables like cubes and midgets, not seen anything I'd call a dungeon after 5 hours (Made the worst level design on the planet and then just locks off gameplay mechanics behind needing to pretend there's more places that are worth going because a midget is behind a corner up some stairs that gives 5 app points) I always seen anons bitch and moan about games being open world but this is the first time I seen one complain about a game being linear. There were only 2 dungeons in the game and the first one you get is in the middle of the game, the areas and level design more than makes up the for the lack of dungeons in the game. The first area is simple and made to railroad you to point A to point B, the other areas have more open areas to explore, fight demons and get items which are sectioned off from each other with smaller paths. >Money you get from random fights is absolutely worthless and doesn't even cover healing from the fights so you need to go SMT4/A relic hunting for money (40 macca for a fight or 1000 from interacting with a vending machine that dropped a cloth mask, hmm) You have to get a miracle to lower the price of healing, then you start making money after fights. >You attack enemies on the world map and they get first turn regardless (not even a speed check thing sometimes early game enemies just get first turn despite you back attacking them by surprise, attacking them doesn't even do a bit of damage like in DQ11 or SMT4 so IDK what the point of attacking them is because it can still be your turn walking into them without attacking but it defo shows a hit effect when you do hit them so again IDK) Nigger. I know you played the game, they don't always get the first turn stop being a disingenuous shithead. I honestly don't know the calculations but a higher speed stat does give you a higher chance to start the battle first and hitting enemies or getting hit vise versa gives a chance of starting first too, I thought that was obvious.
>>467150 >Yes? And? It's spread out through multiple enemies and is weak as fuck unless you make a specific strength build for it Are you sure you know what you're talking about? Aramasa is a single target guaranteed 8 hit attack. It doesn't disperse. >Thats actually pretty smart, stealing that for when I play the game again. I feel like both of you are retards. Any tama in the first area can be killed using a 100 macca spyglass and a single target spell. If your team is at all balanced you can kill every single tama you find and you (assuming no misses) can kill up to 3 in a single fight reliably when a set of 4 randomly pop up. In the second Da'at you need to use mid tier spells. I'm assuming this pattern continues until MC has strong enough almighty to just hit through everything himself. >Nigger. I know you played the game, they don't always get the first turn stop being a disingenuous shithead. I honestly don't know the calculations but a higher speed stat does give you a higher chance to start the battle first and hitting enemies or getting hit vise versa gives a chance of starting first too, I thought that was obvious. As far as I can tell, it goes as follows >enemy lands a hit on you: guaranteed first turn for them >you successfully hit an unaware enemy from behind: guaranteed first turn for you >you hit an enemy anywhere but from behind: agility check for who goes first I will say I can understand the other anon's mistake because what qualifies as "behind" a demon has what I think is a rather small hitbox. I'd have to be autistic enough to do more testing for this.
>>467165 >Are you sure you know what you're talking about? Aramasa is a single target guaranteed 8 hit attack. It doesn't disperse. Oh wait fuck Wrath Tempest disperses, yeah they are pretty similar in what they do. >I feel like both of you are retards. Any tama in the first area can be killed using a 100 macca spyglass and a single target spell. Holy shit why did I never think about that I AM retarded. I managed to take em out with 2 murakumos later on though. I still managed to brute force my way to beating this game though thank fucking YHVH (oh wait hes actually dead) for that. >As far as I can tell, it goes as follows Higher level enemies have a higher chance to go first when fighting you too, whether or not you hit them first. I got my ass beat a lot in the final dungeon by those green level 87 cow looking things. As my level got higher though I started going first more often.
To the anons who beat the game, does anyone know : >The actual maximum limits of stats? I keep hearing it's 200 in this game >Anyone know how the Miracles regarding additional stats per level for both the demons and Nahobino work? Do they work only if the demons are lower than Naho or is there a cap and the effect fizzles out? >Does the Persona 5 Strikers fusion method work? Some folk over at gamefaqs seems to be conveinced that a very similar method does exist in the game to max out stats via successive fusions >Any reliable methods to farm balms and incenses yet? >Anyone know what miracles you carry over when you select Newborn? >>467165 >>467167 Hitting an enemy or getting hit by them only nets the party Magatsuhi or drains them, the only thing that affects who gets to first in battle when entering it is the Luck stat and then comes the Agility check.
Some things I didn't like about this game are indeed >The single target buff/debuff spells, the single target buff spells are basically fucking useless and are seemingly never worth using. >The framerate tends to dip quite a bit during some attacks and cutscenes. >If you want the true ending you're gonna need a guide and to stay relatively neutral when being asked alignment questions as there is no way to check if you are indeed neutral aligned or not, but you basically need a guide to get everything in every SMT anyways. >Some quests are seemingly locked by alignment and idk how to unlock them, may just need a guide for that too >Bosses are now much more difficult compared to the older games and are now not DPS races but all hit sponges whose fights basically amount to wars of attrition where you have to manage HP, declining MP, items, party balance, and weaknesses all at once, but that makes this game the hardest one to date now so I guess thats not a bad thing? >Certain spells has had their costs drastically increases such as mediarahan hosting 140mp to cast compared to merely 35mp in nocturne, luster candy and debilitate costs 150mp to cast, debilitate was 48mp in nocturne. Top that off with the insane amount of HP bosses now have and boss battles are now an absolute fucking trial to get through. >Not as many dungeons as I'd liked there to be (there was only 2) one more could have been nice. >Fiends and Demifiend as paid DLC, never fought them yet because im not sure of an NSZ file could work with a game installed through an XCI file >Fem joker meant almost nothing to the story but I do think she may be vital to getting the true neutral ending due to a late game subquest involving her >Not enough interaction with the law and chaos representatives in my opinion, they are just here and there for the most part >>467266 I don't know too much about the first 3 since I just went through the game normally in my own way and I never played P5S but <your demon minion can find incenses and maybe balms on the ground quite rarely I didn't get all the miracles in my playthrough but the ones i see in my newborn playthorugh are >Any default miracles >Forestall - hitting an enemy greatly increases magasuhi gauge >Divine Persuasion - demons can join you unconditionally >Divine Eminence - can recruit higher level demons >Demon Proficiency I-IV But not naho proficiency though
>>467368 So you'd have to get the Miracles from the eye things / Absesces(sp?) all over again eh? As for your demon navi having a 1/FUCK chances to find balms and incenses is fucking retarded. If Atlus wanted to give booster DLCs, this should have been it, the Mitama appearance toggles should have been a NewGamePlus unlock. But fuck it, everything this day and age is drenched in yuderschize, and Faglus has been greedy even before they got bought by Sega. Faggots having Disc Locked Content masquerading it as DLC is disgusting, just goes to show you how easily people forget and how 10 years ago they'd have crucified Atlus for locking demi-fiend and his quest, just like they did for MvC3 and SFxT. >Bosses are now much more difficult compared to the older games and are now not DPS races but all hit sponges whose fights basically amount to wars of attrition where you have to manage HP, declining MP, items, party balance, and weaknesses all at once, but that makes this game the hardest one to date now so I guess thats not a bad thing? It's a very weird balance thing that I'm not sure needed to even exist in the first place given how many changes happened n skill costs etc but they make the fight boring and unless you play them on handheld and watch something else at the same time, they're boring. Essentially they tried to make everyone into the Demi-fiend fight from DDS1 but it feels unwarranted while they insane Demi-fiend DLC fight feels like a blast because the A.I. isn't braindead and actively tries to rape you. The shitposting video I posted some time ago >>460356 came true and I love it. I just wish the mainline bosses were not operating under Tokyo Mirage Session rules and instead under fucking SMT / DDS rules, like Demi-fiend obviously is. And sorry for bothering you one last time anon but do you or anyone know how the proficiency work in this game again? Are we operating under new rules, IV rules, IV:A Rules or TMS rules by some bizare happenstance?

>>467134 >There are people like you for every new game that comes out, people like you probably shat on nocturne when it came out nearly 2 decades ago. No but thanks for making up a person, really paints you as a good faith argument, really insulted that strawman, could have looked slightly down to see me gush about how sick Soul Hackers 3DS is only a small bit down while you were responding (literally must have had to have past it to reply to other posts). >>467150 >Its been like that since SMT1 you fucking idiot, have you never played any SMT game before? Don't pretend 1/40 (5/200 in SMT4) and 1/100+ (don't know the upper limit but I know it goes greater than 100) is the same you gigantic faggot holy shit. In SMT3 as an example you can see (on normal) a base increase of 4 damage per hit per level + per STR which then goes through additional calculations when applied to skills SMT4 it's 1.5 per stat which is fair health can be higher and stats go up in 5's but this is literal drops of rain and you can't personally spec them so what ever "build" you would consider will now regardless of play will be inflated with like 30-40 magic by level 50 even if you never wanted it >Yes you can, the items are called balms of (stat) and you get stat increasing items for demons too, which are the (stat) incenses Read the thread this was corrected but you will never without literal hours of grinding get enough to potentially fix a build if you felt you fucked up, I don't believe I've fucked up my build but if I did I'd definitely sooner hard restarted from new game than tried for balms to fix it >Yeah thats how they work, they stack and add up, you gotta add another debuff on top of buffs to see an actual difference, git gud >Stat manipulation is objectively much weaker here and absolutely worthless compared to just attacking again but "Git gud" This is your brain on modern atlus games, 0 reading comprehension going +2 on a buff/debuff at best is only a 50% modulation which is literally worse than in any persona or even a pokemon game and defo infinitely weaker then any other SMT game even 4, devs even know this there's piles of special skills that do the stat manipulation with an attack. >Yes? And? It's spread out through multiple enemies and is weak as fuck unless you make a specific strength build for it, if you don't do you buffs and debuffs during boss fights you will still get you ass beat with or without Aramasa You already got corrected lower down but to the second part "wow a great skill is amazing when you build around it," shocking >Groups of enemies appear all the damn time anon and? it doesn't stop multi target skills always being much better at breaking demon formations then AOEs, this has literally always been the case but they're even better at it in this game. You've played all those games in your previous post and you never experimented with this? Devil Survivor it's almost mandatory if you try to play that game with 0 free battles. >Yeah it is Disregarding the rest of this point you literally agree'd >First boss was Hyrda you dump faggot, white flash at the end of a fight means it was a boss Yeah and it uses fire breath so you use fire damp to waste its turn? Are you alright anon? >In this game in any kind of battle even a 5 level difference makes things much easier or much harder depending on your situation, when you are around 5 levels over demons out of combat some of them tend to run from you and also give you much less EXP. At level 20-30's demons level 6-10 will hardly deal any damage to you, they become a joke. I don't get what you're going for here is? I said they feel the same like they perform the exact same functions, OFC they're going to have more stats but it doesn't change they're doing the same things. >Okay? And? Is gaining features and mechanics through progression supposed to be a bad thing? Yes because a lot of them are feature's you'd just have in previous games like skill slots >There were only 2 dungeons in the game Epic game truly. >You have to get a miracle to lower the price of healing, then you start making money after fights. So I can wait a decent chunk into the game to spend a resource on upgrades to make money from random fights or just buy the DLC for infinite money, I wonder why the game was designed like this? >Nigger. I know you played the game, they don't always get the first turn stop being a disingenuous shithead. Why are they in the first place though, if they don't see me and I clearly initiate the fight from the map why so they even have a roll for first turn, you agree'd higher up the post it is a DPS race game so fights potentially opening on an enemies turn is just asking for an instant loss more than in previous games bar 4/4A. This has only caused me to push back to experiment & learn & abuse a trick where I have a level 50 mermaid (Grimoire each level up + every increase I get) to then spread that inflated EXP to level boost other demons by many levels + bonus stats they had from another fusion app giving them super, super inflated stats (+15 to 20 in everything) compared to demons from the same area of similar level at points the game including in speed and it's still a good chance of losing first turn only my demons are literally 8-12 levels higher than me (This gap only widens so by your post level of 85 I might just get level 99 demons out the gate) so they can now through this exploit tank all incoming hits negating the issue (Also just negating enemies/boss in general even on hard being able to dent my team outside of me), but it's not an issue that should be there. I'm playing on hard so that can be a factor but it's where the factor is even more inflated. Also for proof of the last trick here since I assume people in the thread will still be playing the game and this can help them (I don't like the game but I'm not going to hide anything I find about it) was king frost when I fused him with every demon grimoire boosted to my level at the time, gained +8 levels for 24 stats (he's also right next to a level up so nearly 9 levels) from the exp alone and an additional +40 bonus stats acting like an additional 13 level ups in total on top making like it levelled up over 21 times upon being fused. (level 60 demon for scale who's only 13 stats higher total than this, by the time I get to 60 this strategy would be even more effective on him because this scales higher throughout the entire game.) This is what "Git gud" in this game looks like, go be a retarded shill and fight your boogieman somewhere else kike.
>>467403 >do you or anyone know how the proficiency work in this game again? I never played 4A since 2017, nearly beat it but YHVH's universe was the worst dungeon I ever seen in a vidya and I'd rather kill myself than go back there. I believe but proficiency causes skills to become cheaper to cast and deal more damage and it does the opposite when you have less proficiency with it, I tested the damage portion with my Fionn Mac Cumhail. >>467472 Ah, so you're playing on hard, that should make the entire game a much more different experience for you, albeit a much more annoying and aggravating one in general. Just so you know you did this to yourself anon, SMT games are usually unfair dogshit when on their hardest difficulties that's obvious. I played on normal because I don't want to rip my dick off in frustration, I don't need that kind of stress in my life. Anyways if you're still playing the game good luck anon, I'm rooting for you and I hope you get the true neutral ending if you're going for that!
>>467561 Thanks anon, so it seems to be a compound effect this time similar to TMS except with negatives. I will keep that in mind. >>467472 >Proof Ah, so it works in a very similar manner to P5S like I suspected. No wonder they lock discounts and give you money dlc and exp dlc instead of incense dlc, they expect you to use that method instead and shove everything else up Fagobino's ass to max him out in 2 or 3 playthroughs va reborn.
>>467561 >I never played 4A since 2017, nearly beat it but YHVH's universe was the worst dungeon I ever seen in a vidya and I'd rather kill myself than go back there. It's not even fun unlike Sector H in Strange Journey or the Karma Temple in DDS which had gimmicks to keep you on your toes. YHVH's universe is a big load of nothing.
>>467472 >compared to demons from the same area of similar level at points the game including in speed and it's still a good chance of losing first turn only my demons are literally 8-12 levels higher than me I must be retarded, I thought you couldn't boost past the your MC level with grimoire's unless you're stating that by dumping all those grimoire's into mermaid and then fusing her the King Frost gets the massive level boost? Again I must be retarded.
>unless you're stating that by dumping all those grimoire's into mermaid and then fusing her the King Frost gets the massive level boost? This one, get her to your level with grimoires and use all stat items on her then just fuse her into the needed materials of the demon you want or just fuse her into it them. She's one of the 3 materials for Anahita and has Stormcaller song which is a good skill so her having great stats is also just solid over another demon of a similar level.

>>467403 >yuderschize Anon what does this word mean? I get the context clues means its negative, but, this word, this combination of letters, are not found anywhere on the internet. Has anyone worked out or found a source of how Mitama spawns work? I've tried for quite a few hours with no success to farm the blue Mitama for Glory but he won't spawn. I tried reloading into the area fast traveling out and back into it. Closing and restarting the game. Changing the date and time in the console settings and nothing will get the Mitama to respawn. My only theory is they may respawn after a certain amount of actual in game time has passed whether it be AFK or actually playing and after a certain amount of time it can spawn but it will need to roll the right RNG to actually spawn.
>>468888 I can tell you he hasn't responded 15 in-game hours after I killed him the first time. Could be emulation fuck up but I think blues are ones and done. Did find a lot of them in escort encounters in Fairy village though.

>>468905 He's respawned for me 3 or 4 times over a long enough period of time that led to my theory, on the rooftop. I have 27 hours. I've gotten a few that have appeared in random fights and from the fairy that points things out to you, but 99% of the Mitams I've seen are the red or gold ones. I've killed like 20 or 30 of those ones but I just want the fucking blue one.
Now that the DLC is released is there anyway to get it on the emulator?
>>468905 >>468914 I just loaded back up the game after playing for about 5 or 6 hours today without going back to the roof everything respawned in the area including the blue Mitama. Its obvious I suppose, but I also made the realization that you don't need to climb the stairs to see if he's up there because you can see him on the minimap if he is. It took 6 save reloads but I was able to get the Mitama to drop 2 small glory crystals. I don't know if its possible for them to drop 3 but I'm comfortable reloading saves until I get 2 drops deleted last post and put it in this one to not triple post for this update

I was wrong about needing to keep your choices neutral apparently to get the best ending? According to an article I read you actually have to complete ALL the sidequests you can which includes fighting the optional level 96 superboss of the base game, Shiva. I want that ending but apparently I'm gonna have to grind like a motherfucker for it, people done it before the game was even out and I have no fucking clue how but if they can do it I can too. Demons of the Genma race have an Omagatoki called "Lucky" I think which causes you to gain more EXP and macca upon completing a battle on that turn, maybe I can exploit that? If I am still wrong and am missing something then in that case I am truly fucked. >>468943 Anon just keep playing the damn game and progressing forward, the 3rd area has a dozen or two of the white glory polygons floating around which drop 100 glory each, on top of multiple quest givers giving you large glory crystals which give you 100 glory a pop. You are wasting your time grinding for 10 measly glory points at that point in the game.
(40.81 KB 812x610 E_ZSTcbVkAkQ17t.jpg)

>>468969 >You are wasting your time grinding for 10 measly glory points at that point in the game. I already came to that conclusion. I'm in the 2nd area probably 60% through it. I just want to understand how they spawn and if they can be manipulated. This specific one isn't very useful now but later ones will give bigger drops. I wanted to farm them to buy all the Miracles available. I didn't want to progress more I just wanted to mindlessly farm. Doesn't seem possible without buying the kike DLC unfortunately.
>>468969 >all sidequests How does that work with sidequests where completing one makes the other incompletable?
>>468969 Also, just grind the green mitama for Gospels. There's one in the first area of the game. Guaranteed level up for MC. If you need it for demons, fight red mitama, they drop Grimoires.
>>468984 Farming is understandable but too much of anything isn't good for anyone. Also I lied about the 3rd area having lots of cum cubes, it has some though and they give more glory than the ones in the 1st areas. Don't buy the DLC, or at least just wait for it until its on sale. Fuck Atlus for doing that, that is my most hated part of this game by far. >>469000 You gotta finish all the ones you possibly can. I got the info from this article along with that one comment that guy made. https://www.rpgsite.net/feature/11918-shin-megami-tensei-v-all-endings-and-how-to-get-the-best-ending
>>468533 >Remember to balance out your edgelord choices with being a decent human being when being answered questions otherwise you wont be able to fight lucifer and get the true ending. You’re wrong. The only ending that requires any work to get is the true neutral route from the destroy the throne path and your alignment doesn’t mean shit for it. You have to do the Khonsu questline (don’t kill him or it ends early, which is the only choice that can fuck you up), Amanozako, Fionn Mac Cumhaill, Zeus, and beat Shiva and you have to do it before the alignment lock. I’m pretty sure that’s all you need. But you can do the other quests to be safe. No it doesn’t have to be ng+ like some people thought at first. People have gotten it first time through.
>>469007 >and you have to do it before the alignment lock. If it requires you to be on "Destroy the Throne route" in order to be reached why wouldn't you be able to complete all the bonus objectives after choosing that path? Would be kind of stupid if you chose the correct alignment path and you but still got cockblocked. Also fuck having to pick a correct path anyway. SMT route of "get to the bottom of hell to guarantee True Demon Ending" is far more effecient.
>>468533 >Saint Seiya Artemis <Despite not being drawn by Kaneko Whoever designed her is a gift on this world. It's for fun, since I'm saying it's jew shit As for the mitama shit, I think the DLC fucks up and bugs the game currently, other users also brought up that they found mitama faster when they turned the DLC off. >>468969 You're not wrong about the non normalfag ending requirements anon, the game expects you to just go over it in succession just like TMS with its shitty arena bosses if you wanted the true 100% endgame or else good luck haplessly grinding only for it to go to waste when you chose New game+ on Lunatic, it probably expects you to go through easy / safety mode first to collect glory and miracles and unlock the compendium via basic registers -> go to hard and pump your Fagobino with stats and indulge in fusion madness with your demons like another anon mentioned with the increased stats and then do the superboss sidequests. Preferably pick either the Darksiders reject couple or Super Shinzo Abe as your first choices due to the miracles you can get for new game+. >>469004 >Don't buy the DLC, or at least just wait for it until its on sale. >Fuck Atlus for doing that, that is my most hated part of this game by far. SMT route of "get to the bottom of hell to guarantee True Demon Ending" is far more effecient. But anon, regressive game design is far better, don't you know? >>469007 >Before the alignment lock FUGGGG. I grinded from level 79 to 82 after that shit. At least I made a save right before the lock. What's the best way to grind if you were to want to make it to at least level 96? I KNOW people did it before even the game was out. Do I really have to kill those Chi Yo's or whatever the fuck for hours with "lucky" on? Also the way Nuwa had her legs crossed in her boss fight made me want to dive right between them and fuck her so bad bro, her thighs, they're both perfect.

>>469004 >or at least just wait for it until its on sale. I learned the game had day one DLC pretty late. I fucking hate it too and I don't want to support their kikery. My most hated part too.I took a look at the eshop to see how much DLC their even is and how much it costs and alltogether its $30. Their isn't even a bundle or a season pass option thats cheaper. I ended up getting the game for free so I may end up buying a bundle later on if it goes on sale but aside from that they can fuck themselves. >>469076 Roger, thanks for the explanation.I don't have any of the DLC but I suspect the existence of it nerfed the Mitama spawns as a design decision to make players cough up some more dough.
>>469390 >I suspect the existence of it nerfed the Mitama spawns as a design decision to make players cough up some more dough. It seems to be like that. It's really tiresome at this point and I think I mentioned it earlier, I suspect that there's gonna be a revised version shortly down the line with all the DLC on it, on the Switch as well on top of the PC. I'd say it's gonna be a shitshow but the faggots who brought the game day one have already opened their mouth and ask for a second serving of Jack Frost's frosting.
(41.84 KB 512x384 Small luffy.jpg)

For all this bitching about the DLC I am still confused, is there currently a way to add it to the emulators or not? If not, who fucking cares? No one in this thread legitimately bought the game, right? Right?
>>469595 Not that I know of, the guy who stabilized it showed on his youtube(I think it's the same guy) also showed the method to have Demi-Fiend in your teama nd some DLC demons like Cleopatra. So while you can't fight the fiends and do the Demi-Fiend combat, you can "get him" as a summon. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=Kap1QwuxUHs
Fuck it, I answered my own question. You can get the SMT V game and associated DLCs via Fitgirl. Emulators support the DLCs. If you were to be a scrub and actually pay for this shit, here's the fucking DLC you would have gotten day fucking one. Free >Safety (AKA Journalist) Mode >Japanese Voices I don't know why Fatlus keeps putting JV on DLCs but they've done it multiple times now. It's not a sin against god, but is fucking annoying. $2.99 >Green & Red Mitama bonus spawn rate >Yellow Mitama bonus spawn rate >Blue Mitama bonus spawn rate Yeah that's right, fuck anyone in this thread wondering why getting the DLCs effects the spawnrates, here's fucking why. It adds an option to increase the number of Mitamas spawning somewhere, but (and this I am not certain of) maybe makes them less likely to appear if you did buy them? >Mephisto Quests and demon unlock Adds a demon and a sidequest line, fuck if I know he's good, but he's the cheapest demon. $5.99 >Artemis quests and unlock That's right waifufags fuck you, waifu-tax says it would cost you 2 extra dollars to get her over Mephisto. $9.99 >True Fiends DLC Here's your Demi-fiend superboss and getting all of the Fiends added to the game as mini-boss fights and summonables. $24.99 >Cleopatra Sidequest Fuck you even harder waifufags, pay 25 fucking bucks in addition to the basegame to get one extra demon and some quests because fuck you. If you're keeping track at home, this means for the low price of 52.93$ (enough to buy a different game mind you!) you too can have all the content released the same fucking day as the game. Don't worry, Fatlus has your back though, just buy the "Digital Deluxe" Edition off of the E-shop for $84.99, a measly 25$ more than the base game. That's literally 50% off on the Day 1 DLC what a steal! Holy shit, fuck Fatlus.
(496.34 KB 1206x704 ClipboardImage.png)

>>469633 You're numbers are off on a few of those especially the 24.99, its only 2.99. I took a screencap from my switch.
>>469633 > Fitgirl Shows what I know and get for using Ryujinx Fitgirl reps only works for Yuzu or am I giant retard? >JV Because everyone else does it and this trend isn't going to be bucked anytime soon. In fact, depending on the company and the mood of its loyal consumers, it may be free or not. Ultimately, the only reason it's free DLC is because they know that digital media will be fucked once your cucksole gets c-bombed, unlike the physical, so better get used to hearing those diversity hire voice actors and the (((non-binary))) kid that played Shinji in the new EVA movies goyim, you don't want to listen to actual men speaking in the game. >Yeah that's right, fuck anyone in this thread wondering why getting the DLCs effects the spawnrates, here's fucking why. It adds an option to increase the number of Mitamas spawning somewhere, but (and this I am not certain of) maybe makes them less likely to appear if you did buy them? When the game leaked though, people attested to finding them at a stable rate, it's when they got the DLC and turned it on that things got fucked, so it's probably a bug and it activates in certain areas of the map, forcing people to set things to standard, exit the game and re-enter it to make the mitamas re-appear. So far that I know off. > just buy the "Digital Deluxe" Edition off of the E-shop for $84.99, a measly 25$ more than the base game I'm pretty sure it's a little more than 25 bucks since 59.99 seems to be the base physical price, not the digital? Unless my mind is fried with all the taxing an import rates at this point. Fuck Faglus doesn't even begin to describe how angry one oughta be for this level of pure jewery.
>>469663 >Shows what I know and get for using Ryujinx >Fitgirl reps only works for Yuzu or am I giant retard? Unless my mind is fried with all the taxing an import rates at this point. I went to the Switch website itself to check the listed prices. $59.99 for digital copy of game, $84.99 for all DLC included. >>469660 Thanks for the info. Fuck me and the website I was using I guess. I wasn't wrong on a few though, only the Cleopatra DLC from what I can see in your screencap. Price checks out if your subtract $23 dollars from my estimate. That makes the Digital Deluxe edition more pathetic though as that means it only saves you $4.

Alright chucklefucks, having finally gotten the fitgirl repack to actually unpack correctly. A few notes. >saves from the version posted earlier in thread here >>460793 are compatible, don't ask me how to get the DLC working with your current emulator because fitgirl just smashed that shit all together. I'm a little bitch so I just moved my saves to whatever fitgirl created instead of trying to get the game working on what I had installed. >increase mitama rates doesn't mean that mitama's respawn faster, it means regular enemies are replaced by mitamas more, please peruse pic related for how comical this is. Please note that when a mitama replaces a random enemy, that means it's guaranteed fight against 4 of them, meaning there are actually 12 gold mitama and 12 red mitama I can fight in this one area alone >game says I can start all four of the DLC sidequests, so apparently you can start them by at least immediately before the boss of the second main area This DLC is fucking bullshit.

>>469753 >game says I can start all four of the DLC sidequests, so apparently you can start them by at least immediately before the boss of the second main area Alright anon. Go try the Cleopatra and Mephisto fights now and see how it goes.
>>469660 >Mephisto DLC Does it includes the beach episode shit?
>>469857 No? He’s Mephistoles anon he offers different bargains to different people. The MC is specifically looking for someone else who has contacted him. Who would you even to go the beach with? Tao dies halfway through the story and Miyazu is only relevant to a sidequest where she wants to fuck an Egyptian demon.
>>469753 The DLC is on-cart, you can tell since the Demi-Fiend DLC for example is only 4 MBs.

And you don't even list a price for Mephisto. >>469909 You did spoiler spoilers it but i hate you still. >>467472 So I put this guy's bullshit to the test as far as throwing all your grimoire's and stat boosts at a single low level demon to then fuse and hopefully add the stats to demons higher up. Here are the two results, one with a Mermaid purely powered up using Grimoire's, the other using all my stat boosts items on the Mermaid. The Mermaid given stat boost items was given 5 Health Incense, 4 Stamina, 7 Strength, 3 Vitality, 4 Magic, 6 Agility and 4 Luck incense. For context the path I went for fusion was Mermaid + Pisaca = Oni Oni + Kikuri-Hime = Attis Mermaid + Shisaa = Sudama Attis + Sudama + Kodama = Daisoujou If you're paying attention, you'll notice Mermaid is getting used twice, so these are better than normal circumstances. First thing of note, using Health Incense and Stamina Incense bonuses very obviously do not pass on whatsoever at all. Any health or stamina bonuses are purely determined by level, so throwing these items on fusion fodder is a complete waste. As far as using other items, I gave Mermaid 24 fucking stat boosts items and the end result of this was a Daisoujou with only 2 plus stats and RNG seems to determine where those goes as it's changed with repeated iterations. I've always just compared the first Oni made, and as far as I can tell, stat boosts from items are, at best, inherited 1/12 of the amount dumped in, and it's not even consistent where they go. I will say that using Grimoires on a low level fusion then putting that low level fusion into the higher ones does in fact help push levels up which increases stats, however, at least at the point I am, using 20 Grimoires on a Mermaid so my Daisoujou can start with plus 3 levels is kind of ass backwards. This might be better down the line since Mermaid is only going to keep gathering Exp and thus letting things start higher, which does have a major effect. tl:dr definitely do not use stat boosts items on fusion fodder, maybe use Grimoires and keep a (starting) low level demon for easy exp fusion gains.

>>460191 >>460193 Atlus JP did the English dialogue for 2004 Nocturne and made it as they saw fit. They understood that the game wasn't supposed to be wordy, and I suppose some changes were in order because "wordiness" is different across Japanese and English. 2021 Nocturne may have a more accurate translation (save for the cringe meme dialogue), but it's at the expense of consistency with the direction of the game. I'll have to see more examples to form an actual opinion. Lucifer is supposed to be vague and up-to-interpretation, so I can see why Atlus JP removed some words
>>470390 https://archive.md/CSSvw TLDR: They added "flavor and realism" to the dialogue, to make the voice acting sound more dramatic.
>>470466 >With or without voice acting, Nocturne is a solitary, almost meditative experience. So, I wanted the dialogue to reflect the somber, ephemeral mood evoked when reading through the game unvoiced. However, the script had to be adapted to the spoken word—pleasing to the ear, appropriate for dual audio, and in the spirit of the original localization. RIP. He explains why the game didn't have voice acting to begin with, and then decided to pour gasoline on that fire. When the trailer for Japanese Nocturne HD came out, I thought the voice acting was unfitting. You can't really take a product from 2003, a cerebral and introspective one at that, and slap modern anime conventions on it. Then the HD English release goes a step further and converts everything into catchphrases. I'm starting to think all "localizers" just happen to live in a bubble full of hyperactive people who carefully select which wacky phrases they shout at any given moment and we're failing to see their perspective.

>>470486 >You can't really take a product from 2003, a cerebral and introspective one at that, and slap modern anime conventions on it. Then the HD English release goes a step further and converts everything into catchphrases. A drama cd for Nocturne did exist and it has the appropriate tone for the kind of thing it is. Nocturne's current VA work, in Japanese at least, is in the same category as Strange Journey Redux's : the people who chose to re-release the games and add some more features aren't really the same ones as the original creators, so a lot of nuance is lost in how they choose to adapt those aspects of the game. Here's the two drama cds and how that kind of thing carries over to the games : https://yewtu.be/watch?v=aiwFpiVepr8 The Nocturne drama chapter even has a translation to understand who's the one talking and the way they portray Demi-fiend in the drama CD is kinda carried over to the SMTIV A dlc, as if he's already the possesed Akira from Devilman before the game even starts, while this new Ryougo character instead represents Akira before the start of Devilman. https://yewtu.be/watch?v=x7cl6YR4U6o Strange journey : https://yewtu.be/watch?v=LRzI2wDgDAE https://yewtu.be/watch?v=KHbrN8kIyq0&list=PLAV-xzjVBR0UtRCaE75gwmT465Rq_PTQ0&index=0 In both cases, Atlus tries to bring over contemporary anime tropes and it even tries to take away some of the more mature and subdued edge the characters have, even with how they act. The most striking difference to me is the difference between the two Jimenez and how they chose to direct Redux Jimenez to sound like an absolute mad cunt even before he gets fused with Bugaboo. It just shows that the newer staff on Atlus don't have as firm of a grasp nor as defined of an idea what the series is about and what its style is. The then and now picture a previous anone posted in this thread exemplifies this as well. There's a detachment from the source material Okada and gang(sters) drew from and how they implemented that in their games. To anyone who's played Digital Devil Saga, I urge you to go and see some cutscene or play the game with nip voice, right after hearing the drama cds just to see how similar the tone of the characters are in DDS and how old Atlus implemented voice acting in their old kind of games. To put it in an extreme way, it's like comparing old Gundam to newer Gundam.

I'm 40 hours in now and I'm probably just about to go fight the actual boss of the 2nd area. How slow am I? This is my first SMT but i feel other people are farther than me at half the time. Hell some of you fuckers have already beaten it.

I have another question for anyone who's played and fused Idun? Is there something wrong with Idun? In 2 levels I have a amazing healing demon who also gives every buff to my whole party, is there a weakness to this that I'm missing or what? >>470165 >Oni fused with mermaid image From level 23 to 33 there should have only been 30 (10*3) stat points in the chart but there are 56, so not 100% but bonus points have passed on, math shows that. In 2 levels I have a amazing healing demon who also gives every buff to my whole party, is there a weakness to this that I'm missing or what? Idunn is considered one of the best demons in the game if you can keep her current with your party just because of how fucking overpowered Golden Apple is as it’s luster candy+mediarama. Give her both healing pleromas and it’s mediarahan. Give her a healing sutra to get to +5 and it’s only just over 100 to cast which for what you get is amazing value. Make sure she has bowl of hygieia from Parvati too so it can overheal. Other than that is that she’s a mid game demon you have to actively work to make end game worthy but the payoff is excellent. I suspect the reason Naho's human form looks so gay is because Nakajima also looked pretty fucking gay before the OVA made him manly but also because the Susano'o reference would look out of place if both human naho and Aogami were super macho. Pics related. And the reason he got blue hair instead of silver or dark like in Tenjou Tenge is probably because when Kaneko first drew Susano'o, he gave him purple skin and blue hair before changing the colours for Soul Hackers. <Forgot the pics like a retard, plsbuli

I wanted to go for an all around build,especially since the three points the Nahocunt gains are always predetermined, so that by the end of your adventure you always get this type of build, assuming you never put any points on your stats(somehow) : LV / .HP / .MP / STR / VIT / MAG/ AGI/LUC 03 / 051 / 068 / 005 / 005 / 005 / 005 / 005 04 / 055 / 070 / 005 / 006 / 005 / 006 / 006 05 / 058 / 073 / 006 / 006 / 006 / 006 / 007 10 / 078 / 086 / 009 / 009 / 009 / 009 / 010 15 / 099 / 100 / 012 / 012 / 012 / 012 / 013 20 / 122 / 116 / 015 / 015 / 015 / 015 / 016 25 / 146 / 132 / 018 / 018 / 018 / 018 / 019 30 / 172 / 150 / 021 / 021 / 021 / 021 / 022 35 / 200 / 169 / 024 / 024 / 024 / 024 / 025 40 / 230 / 189 / 027 / 027 / 027 / 027 / 028 45 / 261 / 211 / 030 / 030 / 030 / 030 / 031 50 / 300 / 233 / 033 / 033 / 033 / 033 / 034 55 / 328 / 257 / 036 / 036 / 036 / 036 / 037 60 / 364 / 281 / 039 / 039 / 039 / 039 / 040 65 / 402 / 312 / 042 / 042 / 042 / 042 / 043 70 / 441 / 334 / 045 / 045 / 045 / 045 / 046 75 / 482 / 362 / 048 / 048 / 048 / 048 / 049 80 / 524 / 392 / 051 / 051 / 051 / 051 / 052 85 / 569 / 422 / 054 / 054 / 054 / 054 / 055 90 / 615 / 454 / 057 / 057 / 057 / 057 / 058 95 / 662 / 487 / 060 / 060 / 060 / 060 / 061 99 / 702 / 514 / 062 / 063 / 062 / 063 / 063 So I wanted my Naho to be the balanced guy in my team, having good spread and all but no, the game fucks you over, with AGI and LUC softcapping at 100 or 99 in order to have a 100% escape, since that's the only thing they're good at not even for upping the chances to find jewels, essences or incenses / balm in the overworld since those chances are affected only by your navi and Hua Po seems to be the best for balms / incenses and Decarabia for jewels to trade for incenses but not balms for some reason, watch Faglus make it a paid DLC to convert your jewels or incenses into balms And the absolute kick in the nuts is that even if I restart the game to remake my build, it's partly fucking useless because now Skill Potential only affects MP rather than MP and power of the skill, which means that you're really shit out of luck if you don't do steroids in this games. Fuck the retard who programmed it this way. >>473839 Based Demi-anon. Even if only for that door after the Thor fight, I always pump STR up to 30 before focusing on VIT in Nocturne. Before I learned about the AGI thing I used to buff STR and AGI instead. Nice edit by the way >>473874 It becomes especially shitty given that your skill potential is fucked, your numbers grow far slower given your STR/VIT/MAG stats don't have soft nor hard caps at all but on the flipside, given that they go up to 999 means that it's the most colossal fucking slog to even start seeing a good and nice difference at high levels, especially when fighting faggots like Shiva on Normal or Hard, where he's just a slog. And then they have the fucking nerve to nerf the buff / debuff system, fuck with the mp costs for high-end spells like Luster Candy and Mediarahan but limit the sutras you can get in the wild, fucking you over sideways while Atlus rub their hands going >But Goybino, don't worry, you have your miracles to restore your MP in battle in various ways, see how we balanced the game >BTW get the DLC for glory crystals and EXP for your demons after you get the miracle that ents you good exp for your benched demons to do demon fusion until you get good stats I'll never bitch about SMTIV and IV:A's battle system ever again after this. Oh and for those who got the OST, did anyone notice that some tracks are missing? I can't find >>458804 "Battle -Strength- " in the original soundtrack despite most tracks matching the names they got from the ripped ost. Filenames related
>>473909 In any SMT game I play I make sure at least VIT is a healthy amount while leveling STR, but after I have a decent enough amount of VIT I go full retard with STR and oonga boonga smash my enemies to death. Here is my Nocturne stats I neglected to post (beat both games on switch) and all I needed at that point to fuck up my enemies was Freikugel, which at that point was capable of dealing over 10k in damage with the perfect setup. My demons could handle what I could not as they were of course my backup. Unfortunately I tried to also go for a meme luck build earlier on and that did not do me any favors at all Wish I had the OST but I got the game digitally and any music I find are scattered on YouTube all completely disorganized.

So I'm fighting some fire cunt in area 3 and I thought I made a broken team but it fucking sucks because the motherfuck has a physical counter move which renders my team full of fire blockers and Ice Dracostrikes fucking useless because attacking will result in a counter 3/4ths of the time deleting half or more HP of whoever gets hit. Is there a strategy or way around counters I'm not seeing? Also While I haven't caught all the demons I've got a majority of em and If i have hardship I usually see a few ways to work through it by fusing to make a new mon or strategy but this was my strategy and their are no outs I'm seeing by fusion. No strong ice demons anywhere near the level for this fight. I've got a King Frost and Anahita but they are 10 levels behind and do fuckall for damage now. I'm pretty sure the game has a hidden tier system where even though older demons may have high stats compared to a higher tier newer fused demon of the same stats the new ones do WAAAAAAYYYY more damage. If a old and new demon both have 50 attack and attack the same enemy with the same move the damage will be vastly different and I've seen this in action, i tested it. I can't think of another explanation. What do I do? First time I've hit what felt like a impossible wall.
>>474281 Also another issue with ice demons is they are all weak to fire. Useless for actually fighting fire monsters because they'll kill you faster than you can kill them.
>>472692 >cannot buy or sell without the mark The mark of the beast would be anathema to SMT lucifer.

>>474281 >Is there a strategy or way around counters I'm not seeing? Pic related. Blame the faggots for making Counter chance based rather than AGI or LUC based. >If a old and new demon both have 50 attack and attack the same enemy with the same move the damage will be vastly different and I've seen this in action, i tested it. I didn't even think of testing that given the demons I like in this game but if that's true I'm gonna fly to japan and punch Komori, Yamai, Watanabe and Oyamada until I find who was the retard behind this assinine decision. >>474295 The best strategy is honestly this : get yourself fire blocks or better yet, teach one of your demons or Naho the move "Fire Block", there's gotta be some demon by now who has that move. I know the Frosts have already given out Ice Block by the time you reached Surtr so either Pyro Jack or some other fire based demon probably nets you Fire Block if you can get his essence or if you can fuse him into an ice one. I think Black Frost is a good choice since one of his components is Pyro Jack? You could also do this : >Get your Naho to either null or completely repel fire damage via essence >Get your Naho the skill Taunt via essence >Always aim for crits during the figth so you attack and defen with Naho >Have a demon that can pump your ass with -kajas and lower Surtr's defense I know it sounds weird but they changed Taunt in this version and I remember Bicorn or some other horsefucker getting it and having the skill work like Pokeymanz, drawing the attention to him only.

Those hippie fucks inally did it, they diddle so many boys and pumped so many hormones up their mothers cunt, they effectively shrunk their Y chromosomes even more. >>474372 Considering Mifune was old enough to have fought in the war it’s sage to say he was from a different generation of Japanese men.
(41.95 KB 640x480 SCIENCE.jpg)

>>474543 Fair enough but what about Chiba who born in 39? Or other men like Hiroshi Fujioka? These previous generations of men were something, not just in japan, even after the war was over. I know >Hard times make hard men etc But the good times were only for a selected part of the western world in the 50s and 60s and yet by Gen Z, everyone was fucking sissified, even those who didn't really get to enjoy those good times all that much. Therefore, someone must have fucked shit up and gave the kids the same stuff that made the frogs gay. Anyway, after some testing, I was a wrong regarding the Skill Potential. The damage actually scales off like the MP cost scales of, it's just difficult to gauge because early on your gains seem more important compared to when you reach around 200 where it becomes a bit less noticeable when you just up a stat by 1. The way it goes apparently is like in TMS where a + gives the same percentage of damage boost and the same amount of MP cost reduction, so for +9 on Skill potential you get about ~(+)49.86% damage boost, nearly a 50% and your MP cost is lessened by that much as well. It's better than nothing.
>>474547 Anon, my grandpa was born in 33, thats the generation that saw the post war world and had to work their asses off in order to create the comfortable world of the 60s to 80s.
>>474548 Anon, my grandparents were born a bit earlier but my dad born in the 50s still remembers what it was like to be under brittish rule in a colony and how they had to fight for their freedom. Alternatively, my mom still remembers the great hunger she went through with her whole family, including the brothers and sisters of my grandma, due to post war economy. In the 50s. And we were part of the allies. A lot of countries really didn't have it as good as you might think which is why many idealised the Americas of the 70s and 80s to the point where they wanted their countries to be like that Holywood USA. Shit, I was born in the 80s and my indication that I lived in a confortable world was that finally, japanese, anglos, french and germans wanted to live in my country which blew the minds of a my parents at the time of course they left by 2000 and were all replaced by pakis, niggers, albanians, russians and the 2015 rapefugees because it meant that somehow, our economy was rising. And by rising, I mean that there weren't kids on the street begging for food and we didn't drink olive oil while our dinner was baked flour. Yet if you take a look at Europe, you'd hardly think that was the case back in the 80s. Again, look at Brittain with its shit economy, shit living conditions and fucking Thatcher. Yet you look at London today and it's all mudslimes and gayniggers and fancy restaurants and peace and love. There wasn't much of a breathing room to take in the good times is all I'm saying.
>>474281 You say both have the same stats but do they have the same level? I've noticed myself that even if my stats were pumped to ungodly levels via incense hitting near 99 strength on my Yoshitsune and when fighting anything 5> his level he does shit for damage, but starts chunking at 2k when the difference is <5
>>474548 To clarify, I don't mean to come off strong nor reprimand you but I want to show you a side that of Europe that history teachers don't teach kids about these days, outside of very select parts of Europe these days because it's not kosher for the white man to suffer more compared to the coloureds that now occupy their countries or worse, to tell the american tourists that yes, this place really was a giant shithole and a Potemkin village even back when you had money to through at us as tourists. >>474560 Interesting, does this mean that Level still plays a factor in damage in this game? I don't remember it playing much of a factr in SMT4 but Persona1 and SMT3 are the ones that come to mind when it comes to level affecting at least attack power.
>>474562 >Interesting, does this mean that Level still plays a factor in damage in this game? I don't remember it playing much of a factr in SMT4 but Persona1 and SMT3 are the ones that come to mind when it comes to level affecting at least attack power. I think so at least, I steroided my guys as minmaxy as possible and they were still getting their shit wrecked. After running around doing some sidequests and getting a couple levels the fights when from fast instant losses to cakewalks almost instantly. As much as I would like to believe those 6 or so stats mattered that much it feels too explosive of a deference to be the main cause.
(10.09 KB 576x448 games are not for fun.gif)

>>474563 >tying attack and defense damage formulas to level NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
>>474560 They did not have the same level. The older ones were like 10 levels behind, because after the first few it takes insane amounts of EXP to level up older tier demons. Now the damage would vary a lot but as a RPG there is some ± leeway. I don't know how much that leeway is but it could factor in. But this level theory helps explains the discrepancy more because sometimes the lower level one would hit as hard sometimes. Note I didn't do expansive testing very rough and fast testing but I do believe this is how the game is coded, or there is some other factor at play I hadn't noticed, considered or taken into account. I went into the Gold dragon fight and had Yoshitsune do his big dick damage move and he did like 7 damage with each hit. The Vitality of the boss wasn't crazy higher It should have still been doing something but the dragoon had 20 levels on me.

>>474604 Nice pic. Saved. >>474644 That's way too much of a discrepency to not have damage factor in all of this. I'll be pissed if they did some reverse shit with the formula and instead of being (STR + [Level/5]) - (Enemy VIT) = Damage and instead its ([STR/XX] + Level) - (Enemy Level + Enemy Vit) = Damage
>>474644 Yeah the demons have their xp throttled after their last skill because the game wants you to be constantly updating them. If you want an older demon to keep up you have to drip feed them grimoirs which is only easy if you have the dlc.
>>474875 I don't have the DLC but I had so many grimoirs I had to start using them because I was approaching a full stack. I was at 95. Red and yellow Mitamas spawn constantly for me. I just want the blue and the steel colored one. The blue one is finally spawning a lot more in random battles in the 3rd area so thats nice.
>>474281 Ah 60 hours in and you finally made it to Surt huh? I beat him on my first try although it was a fucking struggle and I delayed it as long as possible because that dude was intimidating and seriously stressing me out. Heres some tips you can use to beat him >His counter only happens when you hit him with a physical attack so use PHYS attacks only when desperate >Use ice shards/ice gems especially for extra turns and to avoid his counter >Give a few of your strongest party members bufula/bufudyne >Use your king frost to make a black frost, I believe he either nulls or absorbs agi >Make sure to Omigatoki: Critical after you fully buffed your attack and debuffed his def for that massive damage boost >My dumbass never used fire blocks but you can try to use those too Save your grimores for the endgame, maybe such as for the bosses for the 4th area if you can handle them, they are fucking ruthless and will face fuck you if unprepared or too under leveled. Also enjoy the music there too its amazing. >>474644 Dude. It's a JRPG. Match your level and your demons levels to your enemies and you should be good. One of my demons got assraped by a later boss until I forcefed him a bunch of grimores then he finally started dealing good damage and being able to properly take a hit.
>>474933 There are some spots in the overworld that are designated and dedicated spawn camps for specific Mitama, as in that place only spawns that Mitama alone every I think New or Full Moon or just how many in-game minutes pass. The one I have found is a building near where Demeter is in the Da'at Chiyoda Area for the red coloured one. Over at gaymefaqs some guy compilled some static locations and confirmed it along with a post at RPGsite, so you might wanna look that up. Pics related. >>475007 Maybe I've been out of the loop but the reason this mantra has been true, for the JRPGs I've played is mostly due to bigger levels = more stats, not because the levels themselves are part of the equation which is something that SMT occasionally does. In 7 Dragon II for example, using the multiple job gimmick, I've been pumping my dudes with stats regardless of the level they have and they are doing more damage even at higher level enemies. Same with Agarest Senki Marriage, same with various SRW games I've played, same with SMT IV like previously mentioned. So anon not thinking about it when he had the same stats or even outclassed an enemy in specific areas(STR>VIT) is kind of on par with the logic of these games.
>>475067 Yea I've been using the site you got those images from. I know the spots where the blue and steel ones spawn by heart, I check them every few hours of gameplay the steel ones have only ever respawned once for me the blues can take anywhere from 1 hour to 6+ hours to respawn. I haven't gone to any of the repeatable sites for red or yellow Mitamas I just find a fuck ton of them in random battles and with because of the navi. >>475007 I am 60 hours in actually. Just under 62 at the end of my session today. I beat him on my first try today. I used some grimores to level up my Idun, Black Frost, and Thoth to level 50. Put a ice move on monkey and Idun debuffed healed and hit with light occasionally. Naho used Aramasa and Kannabi Veil when needed and pray he didn't counter me, I got lucky early on with not many counters and once buffs and debuffs were in play his counters didn't do much. I actually fucked up a bit I didn't heal going into it. I didn't have full hp and especially MP on Black Frost and Idun would have been a easier victory without that fuck up but it wasn't terribly hard. Monkey was at about level 40 before leveling and yesterday his medium Ice would hit him for like 60 damage. After leveling he hit for 180ish. His Magic attack only went up like 3 points in all that leveling further cementing my belief the 5 level difference being true. Link for anyone else that wants the Mitama info. https://www.rpgsite.net/feature/11936-shin-megami-tensei-v-mitama-locations-weaknesses-where-to-find-them-to-earn-grimoires-gospels-glory-and-more
>>475107 Amanozao is probably the one that gets Mitamas more easily, I think. >Monkey was at about level 40 before leveling and yesterday his medium Ice would hit him for like 60 damage. >>475117 Do the different navis have different gathering? I can't say I've noticed a difference. The only difference I've noticed is area 2 spawn more Mitamas than 1 and 3 spawns even more than 2 in the same way the the vending machines in 2 and 3 drop more items at once and more expensive ones too. >Well shit. Yea I'm none too pleased about it either, Its a fucking retarded way to make a game, I like how in Xenoblade you can be at level 1 and beat the level 120 superboss. It'll take an hour and a lot of skill and specific setup but its possible.
>>475123 I mentioned it before but Hua Po and Decarabia do seem to be more efficient in finding certain items and Queen Mebd even implies that certain navis are more proficient in finding certain items. Due tot hem being navis for specific areas I didn't venture out but the moment I learned about Hua Po's probabilities, I just abused her for as much as I had her until I stocked up.

For some reason this game is amazing when it comes to unintentional shitposting, haven't laughed so hard since I saw Walter's wonky face drawings by Doi. Something interesting is that in the final area, when one gets Amanozako back, do a few trips back and forth in Odaiba bridgethat's what Khonsu's hideout was called, right? Where you face drago-Seth? and Ama has a heightened chance of finding Balms compared to the other times she's with you. I'm not sure if the combination of Navi and place plays any role in this case or if it's because I did her quest earlier though but compared to Hua Po for example, I stumbled upon an HP balm and a VIT balm for Naho back to back so there's that. Plus the bridge has no enemies so it's quite good for item farming via Navi. Someone on Gamefaqs mentions that Aitvara as a Navi is the best for finding magic and health-related incenses if you get him. I haven't gotten him, so I can't confirm.

Having just finished the "True Ending", my thoughts are as follows. True ending Lucifer is a complete fucking pushover after Shiva, this is criminal considering that beating Shiva is a requirement as far as any can tell. I miss Shiva's "Dance til you die" idle animation from PS2 era. All bosses are incredibly samey with the one exception of Khonsu Ra, and even then only for his major attack. The "solution" every time is just to be stocked up on various dampeners, through a spyglass, and one of the multi-target moves will be the first used during a "magatsuhi phase" preventing anything wild happening. Outside that it's gimped buff, debuff, varnish etc. in a cycle. It was quite disappointing during the last boss rush too. Quests never got any better near the end. As far as a nitpick goes I have no idea why Demeter would ally with you during the Destroy the Throne route because in that route the Nahobino directly contradicts her goals for a fertile earth. If anything her quest should be immediately before big decision time, or be route-based, one or the other. As far as positives, I can say that everything was "competent", they did not outright fail in any area to my knowledge. The overworld was quite fun to run around in and never got outright old if a bit tedious to navigate once in a while. Combat always felt somewhat engaging until I powerleveled to steamroll Shiva. The new demon designs are "okay". Not amazing, not outright bad for any of them. I did notice though that they got really lazy with the feet as far as barefoot models go. There was a wide gap between animation quality for some characters over others. What comes to mind most is Mother Harlots damage recoil animation is incredibly smooth and tasteful while Zeus's attack animation being incredibly stiff. Unique animations were okay most of the time. I will say up until the end I could solve all of my problems with macca, which I had no lack of due to studious care. All in all, I'd say it's a competent SMT game with room for improvement. How to improve it? I don't have a damn clue. It feels like the devs didn't know what to do with their battle engine so I' don't know how I'm supposed to know. I would recommend playing with the revised "thicc Nahobino mod" just because it's so fucking funny to see in every cutscene. Always had me in stitches.
>>477247 About time anon, work must have got you by the balls huh? I was the guy who posted the XLC file link glad you enjoyed the game, got the TN on the 17th i think. Spoilers The true final boss fight was rather disappointing and the music was kinda eh but it grew on me due to it sounding like "I am an all powerful being and I don't want to be one anymore fucking kill me already" in a way. I just wish the true final boss had more HP, more damage, was at least level 99 much like in SMT2, because by that point, you are basically railroaded to be that level as well AND I would have liked a phase that was more like his fight in Nocturne with his attacks like "High King" and what not. He became the new God for fucks sake and he's still weaker than Shiva and that decision was downright bizarre and disappointing, I feel like he's the weakest hes been in any SMT game I played. Wish there was at least one more dungeon, maybe like a law dungeon, more angels to fight such as some in the overworld for once and more interaction with the law and chaos representatives, also we never got to see Tsukoyomi's true form. The same dude should make a fem Nahobino mod, they're so close and they already got the lower half down (excpet for the bulge, which has to go) its time to give this man some fat fucking titties.
>>477442 >Spoilers Anon, you saw Tsukuyomi's "True Form", it's his Nahobino form. In this game, Susano'o and Tsukuyomi are redesigned from the Devil Summoner Susano'o by Kaneko and are instead given this stupid long hair and are buff dudes with the artistis reference being that Naho and Aogami / Susa, inherit Kaneko-Sano's long blue girly hair from the artwork. Other than that, the True Ending is fucking disappointing as a final boss, really fucked up the balance there. The story beats of Amitabha Buddha and Tao being the ultimate gigacunts of the story and Lucifer + chinese snake bitch being the obvious manipulators to force you into detaching yourself from the Mandala to basically become one more bitch to the Great Will's army is such a fucking swerve. The newer staff of Faglus really don't seem to get what the fuck SMT was about in the first despite them going "HEY HEY REMEMBER DEVILMAN, WE STIIL DO" by adding Nahobino Abdiel and Amon along with Mecha Lucifer but those are hollow gestures compared to the passion projects of the former staff. Heck, speaking of Lucifer, they sure do blowjob him extremely hard in this game, you'd think we're laying SMT Nine on Sumire's Chaos route. I suspect that's why they lean on the TDE as a crutch for this game being its sequel but also to deliver some other references like Kaneko-styled Devil Trigger Abdiel and even-more-Yasunori-Kato-than-Raidou Yakumo Shohei along with the "true" ending of this game being you made into an actual super-god to parallel SMT3's ending of willingly becoming a full demon. But it plays out so shittily and so clumsily it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I wish it was Kaneko or the OG Atlus artist that did the MC and Nahobino so we wouldn't have this gay shit happening. Then again, I have a feeling most of you guys would be jerking it to Nakajima and Kamille back in the 80s like most fujos did when they made them into traps.

I honestly can't believe there are people who actually got stuck there, what kind of people are they? Persona fans? A good portion of modern gamers with an internet connection are unironically legally mentally retarded. I don't think they would have been able to beat any single SMT game pre IV (1 through SJ) as they have similar kinds of level design and at times are even far more unforgiving.
>>477442 >About time anon, work must have got you by the balls huh? That and I was fighting an emulator tooth and nail up until Lahmu crashing constantly. Until Ryujinx just worked™. >spoilersAs was already stated Tsukoyomi's true form is the Nahibino formed. I think what you meant was you didn't get to see his demon form, which would be true, but judging by Aogamia, apparently they just like like humans in power armor, so it's whatever. On a side note, anyone pissed off that in Japanese "Nahobino" refers exclusively to MC, while the race of a "Unified God" Tsukuyomi, Abdiel, Nuwa if she wasn't a bitch is supposed to be "Unified God" or "gouitsujin"? I can't understand this translation change. If they were worried about the spoilers "Unified God" could theoretically cause, just keep it in Japanese too ala "Gouitsujin"? Very odd choice. >The same dude should make a fem Nahobino mod, they're so close and they already got the lower half down (excpet for the bulge, which has to go) its time to give this man some fat fucking titties. Remember that demons like Okuninushi, Amaterasu in SMT3, Cu Chulainn could throw more modern clothes on and they'd pass for your average basement dweller who just saw sun for the first time. The power armour is kinda Aogami's thing, Susano'o's clothes, like Tsukuyomi's are implied to be a bit more traditional and Tsukuyomi just snazzes it up as Prime Minister Hayao "Please Copulate to Repopulate" Koshimizu

>replay my last save before big decision time just because I want to dick around in NG+ >go law route for the obviously superior Miracle choice >get to the end of the game >you fight Lucifer anyway Well, I at least understand why Lucifer is such a pushover compared to Shiva, and that's because he's the final boss of all routes bar Destroy the Throne. This now begs the question then, what the fuck is my reward for getting through the trouble of unlocking the extra ending then? Was Shiva the reward? Because Shiva was hard but he wasn't a cool boss fight, and I don't even need to make the right route choice to fight him. What exactly is the point of going that route now if the bosses are basically the same?
>>478000 >What exactly is the point of going that route now if the bosses are basically the same? Anon, he gets an extra theme, more dialouge and two more phases compared to the other two routes. >>478287 I personally need to play Digital Devil Saga 1/2 and then the Raidou duology.
>>478467 >Digital Devil Saga Can't recommend it enough, peak Kaneko demon design as far as SMT ever got imo. Gameplay is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. >Raidou I tried Raidou, it wasn't bad, but I got so bored of it's combat after a while. It tries to be an action game, but the arena's are so cramped its just unfun to play after a while. Maybe it got better later, but I couldn't get into it. Damn shame I think, the game had a nice aesthetic going for it.
>>478287 The DeSu games are good for a fresh take on the series. I hope for more TRPG SMT games from it. Storywise they're weaker than other SMT titles, but gameplay wise they're fun enough, and also have banging soundtracks.

Meanwhile, even the nips managed to datamine the game and give us accurate ratings of the probabilities, acuracy of moves and base hit power of them : https://hyperwiki.jp/smt5/skill/ https://hyperwiki.jp/smt5/skill-special/ https://hyperwiki.jp/smt5/skill-personal/ https://hyperwiki.jp/smt5/devil/ >MFW the possible maximum auracy is measured in 255 instead of 100 or something >This fucking number has haunted me since the PSP Just make it stop already. And according to some other nip guy who tried the stat boosting methods, he claimed that it is possible to boost your demons stat with miracles for up to 20 levels instead of just 10 that people initially claimed, which helps a lot more when fusing really high level demons with almost no room to grow, like Shiva. Also, the moon phases play a role in how the fusion gains some random stats boost on top of that. I highly doubt those niggers at Atlus will ever release a new revised version anywhere else in order to fix all the calculations shit they fucked up and make the game retarded, they'll probably just release a shitty PC port next year with all the current DLC bundled and the normalniggers will gobble it up while acting smug and superior that SMTV is finally on a superior cucksole while importing all the mods people made for Switch and the emulators >>478569 >It tries to be an action game It tries to be a Tales game anon, not an action game. It's insanely obvious how close to the formula it is. In general it's a shame that while during that period of time both Kaneko, Yamai and Okada who had left Atlus at the time, wanted to make an Action RPG with demon collecting, and their efforts produced something ambitious yet pretty mediocre. I wonder if they all came together at the time and made a proper multiplat game like that, if it would have been better. Because Both the Raidou titles and the game Okada made for the PSP seem to be pieces of a larger missing puzzle. >>478918 The redditbabies and youfags start pouring in from the various video game forums to shit the place up and show infinitely superior their zoomer tastes are with the help of their balding allies in their 30s. Ok so I got to area 4 finally. Story spoilers up to that point. Ok I Tao is alive, kinda and a party member now. Cool. But I worry if she'll stay a party member Taking her from you twice seems like a dick move and I don't think they'd do it but does she leave or die again? What I'm really asking is should I use her? And if she does leave can I still use her in a non-canon way like resummon her with the pokedex or something. No story specifics for this question please. I can't recall his name for the life of me but Insecure hat fag I fucking knew he was gonna be Abdiel's knowledge. I've got 74 hours in this fucking game I should know the names but they've only ever been on screen for such a tiny fraction of that. Only ones I can remember are Tao cause I liked her and Aogami cause he's pretty cool. Still haven't gotten to the part from that image but I'm excited for it. Now on to the gameplay. Area 4 is quite the difficulty spike, leveled up a little went to fight the first abcess and the thing has 11 levels on me and I do fuck all for damage. You also have enemies that were bosses not too long ago just regular fights(werewolf and blue ten armed guy). Now I'm not sure if this is great RNG or a mechanic but I encountered like 10 mitamas in random fights and off navi points and got up to level appropriate in like 15 minutes.I constantly have to be using my grimoires on my Idun and Yoshitsune and a few others because I've hit the max twice now and the game throws grimoires at me. I don't know if I should maybe try getting rid of Yoshi and Idun but they are still great and I feel like they are keeping up well especially since I gave them some stat boosters a while back, Idun especially. Both are just so incredibly powerful. I haven't explored much of area 4 but there don't seem to be many leyline founts its a pain in the ass. I've only found one. I felt the urge to try to summon on a full moon again to get a random demon. First try I fused my lv 45 Anahita and lv 51 Thoth together for a lv67 Melchizedeck and got a lv 69 Fuu-Ki. I was surprised by the first try but Melch was better. I tried again about 10 more times and got a lv 72 Thor. A full 10 levels above my Nahobino and a quite a bit stronger than Melch. Not gonna push my luck further but this is the strat for getting rid of old demons you can't figure out what to make. just reroll fusions on full moons till ya get something crazy.

I also spend like 10 minutes thinking about whether to take a new move or keep my old moves every time a new one pops up and I spend a fuck ton of time looking at the different demon fusions wondering what to fuse. I'm at 79 hours now I wrote my last post spoiler part like 2 days ago but didn't post it. Haven't gotten much farther in area 4. Killed one abcess and thats about it. Also took the quest to unlock Odaiba in area 1 and spent a bit of time there resetting the Steel Mitama for 2 gospels to drop but never got it after resetting for like an hour. Because I have autism and have no friends, I'll just dump my ramblings on this thread. I tested once more the idea that using stats boosts on fusion materials is a good idea. I used cheats to manually force the stats of a Slime and a Preta to 999 in all stats, as you can see, the result is an astounding +10 in all stats. Next we keep those 999, and force the Slime and Preta to level 99. Do level your fusion materials. Do not stat boost your fusion materials.
92 hours and I've finally found all the Miman and beat all the bosses of area 4. The last Miman I found was on the on the way up to Odin. I'm grateful there is a save at the end of the platforming because that maze jump thing is rather confusing and you need to jump down for both Glory and that Miman. I didn't even know it was possible to get as high as you get. I spent many hours trying to navigate it and find paths up but I feel like they only appeared once I beat the other two bosses. Odaiba is really great for making some money finding Mitamas becuase they are the only enemy that can spawn from navi points and the ones that respawn and Aogami essences have a very high drop rate so you can recollect them if you got rid of a Naho move you want again. One run and I got 4 Aogami essences and 2 Mitama spawns.
>>482821 I really should have told you that you could farm Nebiros's to get massive amounts of EXP early on, thrones also give a good amount of EXP. Once you get to the final dungeon you can grind those green chink demon guys with Omagatoki: Luck for even MORE EXP so you can get strong enough to do the Shiva fight, I got lazy and used 11 gospels after I got to level 85 though. Also don't kill Khonsu if you want the true neutral ending.
>>482702 Your(Nahobino's) level also affects the extra stats after a fusion, so it's always much better to have Naho at level99 so that the fusions are always at least 20 levels below your Naho.
>>482897 Everyone one of those fusions was done with a level 99 Nahobino. It didn't effect the stats at all. Unless you're telling me the base no cheats versions massive +1s came from that.
(17.23 KB 245x192 Oh damn.png)

>>482909 If your Naho is close in level to the fusion results level, let's say Naho is 50 and you get a 49 Thor, the extra stats from the fusion + miracles will be much lowered. It's a cheap way to make every demon viable with stats in the 100s by the endgame, since lower end demons get fused in much lower levels, they get far more extra boosts when fused and get the 20 level +1 extra stat if you get those miracles as well, meaning you can in a very legitimate way get yourself a pixie that has beefy stats by level 99. Comparatevily, Shiva who gets fused at 95 and if you level his ingredients at max to get all those delicious bonus stats, he will always be more gimped regarding progress since the level limit is 99 for both demons and the Nahobino. If Atlus wanted to make a system where the stronger demons remain the strongest, they' allow the player to level Naho far beyond Level99 and only him, compared to the other demons, so that even late game fusions have some sort of edge compared to miracle'd fusion demons beyond affinities and resistances. Yes, the system seems to be that retarded. Those fucks really tried to make SMT into Pokemon except the EVs and IVs are fusion values and "Trainer" Values now.
>>482950 Via Cheats, I forced Nahobino to have 1 in all stats, and 999 in all stats. Nothing, nothing affected the outcome of a Shiva getting. At all, period. I made the Nahobino 99, I made the Nahobino 96, nothing I did to the Nahobino had anything to do, whatsoever, with the end result Shiva. I would post pictures, but it's literally this Shiva four fucking times. MC stats and level does not effect the level of fusion demons directly. What may have an effect is that if you can't get level 99 materials because your MC isn't 99 means less levelups for the end fusion. I'll try testing with different Rangdas and Barongs now.
>>482979 Forgot pic.
>>482979 Anon, you are talking about that like it's a bad thing or that it even matters. Naho's level and stats does not effect demon fusion stats, ok, cool, now lets move on. Being autsiticly angry isn't going to do you any favors. Do the moon phases new/full effect demon fusions besides full giving me a Mot one time?
>>482950 For fun's sake I tested this idea out with a thematically appropriate comparison of a Vishnu and Shiva both using level 99 and 999 in all stats materials. As far as I can see, yes you are correct that assuming absolutely perfect base materials that all end game demons have north of 500 stats. Vishnu ends with 522, Shiva ends with 529 and I did an extra Arahabaki too, assuming standard +3 stats for the rest of the levels, he's going to land on 504. Into the late game, the ultra high level demons do seem to win out based purely on base stats, but not by much. You are correct that all demons end with neighborhoods of the same stats, but the late game demons are still superior on a pure stat basis, let alone resistances and possibly unique moves one. >>483035 I'll get on that I guess.
>>482979 >>482989 Anon, I'm sorry there seems to be a misunderstanding between us and I'll try my best to solve it ESL, please nobulli Here's how it seems to be for fusion, at least for me, without cheats and certain caveats : >Unforgotten Memories Miracle >Warrior's conception >The demons used as ingredients are leveled up 20(+?) levels from their initial level if you got them via negotiation / fusion or just immidiately registered that fresh demon <There's no need to grind them to max Level 99, you're only hampering yourself, just 20-something levels above the one you got them >All of the demon "ingredients" fullfill those conditions above, so if a demon requires two, then the two demons, if it's three then all three etc. >The resulting demon is of a lower level than Naho <In the case of classic dyad fusions, doing a reverse compendium search to see which demons can be produced with the lowest level demons possible(taking in account those 20 levels the ingredients will get) so that you can also get the advantage of the Prayer miracles and level them up for a full 10 to 20 times And upon fusing them(without the Prayers initially), the resulting demons would get some levels and at best +20 extra points on each stat, along with the stats they'd gain from their level up. With the Prayers, those would get added and the result would skyrocket. Naho's stats don't play any role and like you mentioned, the Incenses do not get transfered over to the fusion. If I got anything wrong, I'm happy to admit it, even better so I don't spend my time or no reason grinding for no reason to get my pre-incense doping demons to get some good status. Yes, I play without cheats, I'm a masochist >>483035 Hey anon, it's ok, I started it, I very much appreciate that 7d97b4 even took the time to answer and provide pics again. I'd like to learn about it. People are still very confused about the systems at this point and reddit throwing shit in the wall as "debunkings" has slowed the progress that users on many sites were having the past week or two. >Do the moon phases new/full effect demon fusions besides full giving me a Mot one time? I think either New Moon or Full Moon make you far mor eprone to fusion accidents but the inbetween of 1/8 to 7/8ths of the moon can result in your demon fusion get either +1 or +2 more bonus stats. I think. >>483040 Ah, I got ninja'd while I was writting it, thanks anon. >Into the late game, the ultra high level demons do seem to win out based purely on base stats, but not by much. You are correct that all demons end with neighborhoods of the same stats, but the late game demons are still superior on a pure stat basis, let alone resistances and possibly unique moves one. Yeah, their affinities and res are the biggest edge in this case and if they got a good unique because given how fucked some MP costs are like Idun's even at +5 Healing prof, it really isn't worth it compared to say, Shiva's Tandava that fucks shit up at +9. About the stats, it seems that due to their maximum of 999, the difference starts happening after +10 pure points on a stat, assuming both demons / naho and the enemy are at the exact same level. Some guy staffed his Naho with 999 vit and he facetanked Gaea Rage at 150HP but with 400 he was getting hit for 500HP. I know the post looks clunky but I didn't want to rewrite the first part due to putting so much effort in it before the ninja

>>483035 After one Metal Gear Rising OST, here are the results of the normal vs accident results. Accident Kurama has 444 total stats at level 85 Normal Kurama has 445 total stats at level 87 Assuming standard +3 stat difference between levels. Technically, the accident Kurama has +5 stats on the normal one. I couldn't tell you if this was due to RNG, stat bonuses based on base demons used, or the hypothetical full moon bonus. What I can tell you is that resetting for a god damn hour to get said fusion accident for a 5 stat difference isn't worth it. At all. Just run around with Hua Po for an hour and pray for incense drops instead. I got the accident on my literal 30th and promised last try before I said fuck it someone else can do it. I'm not testing if moon phase effects normal fusion because I frankly doubt it and even if it does, it's a swing of like +1~2 and too much fucking micromanagement. I would rather run around looking for incense then fish that out. >>483074 >first spoiler I will bully the fuck out of you. >second spoiler Understandable fren
I will end my autism rant tonight with one last post about Warrior's Conception stat bonuses. It seems my first test was a bit extreme and didn't cover the nuance, so here's a simple breakdown. You don't need to hit 999 or even 99 in all stats to give the max inheritance bonus. Using a Rangda and a Barong for Shiva again, the materials just needed +18 in all stats themselves before fusing. This is pretty reasonable to hit before level 99 for both of them, though I'm not going to bother speculating for higher level demons. The most important point: just leveling up your materials to 99 is probably going to give you all the Warrior's Conception bonus you can possibly milk out of them. Second point, as far as Special Fusions that take more than two materials. As far as I can tell, if there is a bonus, it's minimal, and it could just as well be based on whatever the demon being used are, what the demon being made is, etc, no matter the explanation, it's not a significant change if it does in fact exist. This Khonsu Ra does technically get better bonuses than Shiva, and his end game stat bonus assuming perfect creation does in fact outstat him, but it's 543 to Shiva's 529. It's not fucking double like intuitively it should be for using twice the material. In summation once again, level your base materials to level 99. Do not use stat bonuses on them, their natural stat gain will do all the work for you.

>>483646 It was based on a sketch that g4 did for an awards show that had kh2 and nocturne. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn0kOO-X-Jk On a side note, what is it with atlus games that attracts elderly women?
>>483619 This is nowhere near as funny when it's two random guys and it looks like it was filmed in a hotel room on a cheap digital camera.

No one asked, and no one may care, but I have finished this game. 100%. 100% Quest completion, Demon Compendium, endings, everything, including Demifiend on Hard, who is a real fucking son of a bitch. Closing thoughts on this game. >it's a sin against god that in a game with inbuilt NG+ I am forced to go through tutorials every fucking time >it's a sin against god that I lose my talisman's every NG+, implying that if I want them back I have to redo all quests and find all fucking Miman if I want access to any of the other Omogatoki for cheese straights >Mitama DLC completely breaks the balance of pacing of the game and should be left off until NG+ >fuck having to rely on RNG for essences each time I want a new one for Fallen Abdiel and Nuwa All in all, it was quite fun, I only want to put my fist through the screen after failing on Demifiend for 8 fucking hours before gritting my teeth, grinding up a cheese comp and beating his sorry ass. See you all when one later there is the inevitable "definitive final super deluxe femboy edition" which makes the game infinitely better in someways and completely destroys it in others for the low price of 60$.
>>486641 Did you do you extra playthroughs on reborn or newborn? I have 89 hours and I am just past the 1st area in newborn hardmode. Seemingly nobody bothers to play the game on newborn from what I've seen. How did you manage to get Idun and Yoshitaku to level 99? You had to grind a shitload of grimores somehow didn't you? I ain't spoiling shit anymore ya'll niggas should have beat the game by now. Have you played the other SMT games? Aren't you the least bit worried about how the chaosfag has no character development and that Masakado who was in every mainline is MIA for some reason? There isn't even any non demon or non recruit able enemies this time around, by that I mean like enemy humans and what not. There was a huge lack of worldbuilding when it came to the humans, the only active combat bethel agents we ever see are Yuzuru and Ichiro and literally no one else in Ginza which was supposed to be a battlefield. Raidou (Yakumo) is developed enough but the only fleshing out of his character is some NPCs in Toyko telling some of his backstory. There were so many missed opportunities and points that could have been done and more touched upon but I'm still fine with what I got. Also whatever the fuck happened to all of those Aogami models and why couldn't we recruit one?
>>486702 >Did you do you extra playthroughs on reborn or newborn? All on reborn. I was originally quite interested in a newborn playthrough as I thought the Law and Chaos only miracles transferred to it, and I thought it would be fun being a level 5 Nahobino running around with a level 45 demon. Sadly, the Rank Violation miracle doesn't make it over, so my interest completely evaporated because a normal play through on hard is a fucking slog due to how leveling effects damage. I'm actually quite interested in seeing if a mod can fucking ease up on that and adjust it because holy shit. I don't mind the boss being able to evaporate me in one hit, but I fucking hate that just because I'm not 5 levels higher I'm literally hitting for single digits. >How did you manage to get Idun and Yoshitaku to level 99? You had to grind a shitload of grimores somehow didn't you? With Idun and Yoshitsune it was easy, once they joined the party on the first cycle they never left, and stayed relevant up to everything bar Shiva. However, I am a hoarder, and because I am a hoarder, I saved every stone statue and every grimoire until my Nahobino could go straight to level 99 via Gospels. Then every body went from 70~80s straight to 99. Now, a bunch of my other demons? I had to grind grimoires like hell for Abdiel and Nuwa for Demifiend fight just to get their essences and distribute Repel and Drain Phys properly. At that point I was already in 4th cycle so I just left the Mitama DLC on and spent a few hours that way. I only regret the grimoire's and stamina incense wasted on Tao first cycle because 1. I didn't know she fucked off from the party on a neutral play through, and 2. no matter what route you choose she gets set back to 60 next play through, fucking aggravating. >Have you played the other SMT games? Nocturne and I tried Strange Journey but I got to the pitchblack mapless dungeon before immediately getting curbstomped by a boss and gave up. Might try again though. >Aren't you the least bit worried about how the chaosfag has no character development Worried? No. Found it stupid? Incredibly. I remember on my first blind playthrough being caught completely off guard that this random kid was a demon summoner. On repeat playthroughs I got more confused because he's part of a secret organization whose only job is to keep demons out of Tokyo and he doesn't know about the catastrophe? What, did he just hear "we're fighting demons" and not ask where they come from? >and that Masakado who was in every mainline is MIA for some reason? Ambivalently, if anything though it's obvious DLC bait so it will probably make it in as such, though I guess we just don't know if it was a financial success yet so maybe it will die in the crib. >There isn't even any non demon or non recruit able enemies this time around, by that I mean like enemy humans and what not. Doesn't really bother me, off the top of my head I can only remember a handful of SMT Nocturne's bosses that were also this. Now, what I was disappointed in was the lack of fun gimmicks in multiple boss fights. At best you have Khonsu Ra's interaction and technically Ishtar, though hers is just "she can't use the move" if you play with the gimmick. Lucifer has a gimmick too I guess, but it actually makes him easier to fight if you use phys demons which is pretty fucking funny. >There were so many missed opportunities and points that could have been done and more touched upon but I'm still fine with what I got. The game has story issues all over the place, Normal Neutral is just Nuwa and Yakumo being too stupid to tell you what the actual plan was. Chaosfag just exists to serve plot functions to fill a hole and doesn't have a person outside of that role. Khonsu's waifu serves no purpose outside being a waifu. The saint is just magical because reasons??? All in all the story fell flat on it's face compared to Nocturne. Good enough overall though. >Also whatever the fuck happened to all of those Aogami models and why couldn't we recruit one? They all died. Though there is a usable Susano'o Aogami which modders have added back in, so that's interesting. Also, obvious DLC bait if the game is successful enough. >>458855 Bless you man. I'm saving this the day I hack my switch. Fuck nintendo and their $60 ass.
>>458907 >Tao is neutral Heroine She literally only fucks off in the Neutral route, she is literally Anti-Neutral if anything. >Chaos Heroine She isn't even fucking relevant. What the fuck am I looking at?
>>459052 >Scathach NP How did a Fateshit gacha headline make it into a Fatlus screengrab?
>>486840 Honestly have no clue why they even add that there but it is funny as fuck.
>>486835 I'm the same guy, my IP keeps on changing despite me making it "static". Make sure your switch is one made during or before the summer of 2018 so that it's not ipatched and when you decide to do it be sure to have a 512 to 1tb sd card so you basically future proof your console. The process is easy as fuck as long as you know how to read and are NOT mentally retarded. Whenever you need to update atmosphere be sure to delete the ENTIRE atmosphere folder on the root of your SD and replace it with the new one. If you got any more issues with your switch once you jailbreak it feel free to ask me in the nintendo switch thread. I wish I could leave but unfortunately i'm fucking stuck here. >>486837 She should have became the destroy the throne final boss, fuck that bitch for fucking off. >>486861 >She should have became the destroy the throne final boss, fuck that bitch for fucking off. >mfw I realize in Destroy the Throne she literally just leaves. No follow up, no nothing, she just leaves the story. What the fuck, how did this happen? If anything she should have augmented the Abdiel and Tsukuyomi routes. Now, you have to fight them WITH a Tao support. That sounds like it would be a real bitch.
>>486918 >she should have augmented the Abdiel and Tsukuyomi routes. Fuck *Abdiel and Tsukuyomi bossfights
I noticed a newly fused Yoshitsune was far stronger than my own I raised from level 45 and dumped quite a few incenses into. Fused my old one into a very strong Yamata-no-Orocchi and made a new Yoshi thats 15 levels lower and has far better stats. Probably not worth it since I"m pretty sure I'm at the end of the game now with no more than a couple hours left if I actually just focused on it for once. Now I'm save scumming Grimores on Yoshi getting him up to level 80 trying to get the stats into strength, vitality, and agility. Mainly strength. My MC is level 99 and I'm sure I would have raped the bosses left anyways but wanted to do right by Yoshi, he's been MVP for a long time.

>>486641 >See you all when one later there is the inevitable "definitive final super deluxe femboy edition" which makes the game infinitely better in someways and completely destroys it in others for the low price of 60$. You were a real trooper all the way through anon, congrats. And yeah, hope to see you here again when they inevitably release the "Lucifer's Super Royal with Cheese Call of Femboy Dooty, ft. Dante from the Devil May Cry series & Fallen Abdiel as femVergil" that hopefully actually fixes all that shit. >>486702 >Masakado who was in every mainline is MIA for some reason? Anon, Kaneko and Okada are out of the picture, they were the only ones who had hard-ons for Masakado. So, put 1 and 1 together...it doesn't help that Yoshitsune has been the more popular Heike-era samurai out of the two so...it's a shame. >Spoiler Because they are cyber-bodies, if they failed it's because their design wasn't enough to handle Susano'o's full power, which is why each "Type" only has some of his spells while the current body Aogami has is able to be infused with all the moves and spells ever, signifying that this one is the successful one. >>486918 The Neutral story in general is stupidly underdeveloped in general : >Lucifer doesn't start gigasperging due to the player fucking up his super sikrit glorious keikaku or something >Tao just fucks off when she's supposed to be the Holy All-Mother stand in and you even find Mary of all things to resonate with her and stuff >Sophia and Mary never interact with each other to guide you to the Neutral "Truth" of this game >Goko just goes sad doge after you destroy the Throne and fucks off to feel even sadder motherfucking Brahma came off as the biggest dick of all time in two seperate games, Shiva is a giant loser cunt and you expect me to believe that Amitabha is gonna be chill when he looks like the most jacked monk ever? >You don't even get the repercussions of your actions in that ending, leading an army of humans and their demon allies in a climactic battle against all those who wish to oppress you until you finally free humanity don't you fucking look at me this way, you know that the former humans would instantly ally themselves with the humans and not even consider themselves demons if they were given the choice But instead you get Danu. Whoopie, goody goodie gumdrops, fuck you Atlus. Oh and the reason we don't get Dagda to even appear is because Shuichi Ikeda was hospitalized last years due to pushing himself too hard, he returned to voice just a few lines as Char / Quattro in SRW30 but that's the best he can do for a while. Unless Atlus redesigns Dagda with a new personality and voice, highly unlikely since the Doi designs are what's taking over SMT now, then don't expect to see him as a demon.
Well got my first ending at 114 hours. Chaos ending and I looked it up afterwards I apparently missed out on getting a miracle because I guess i chose dialogue choices that didn't fit the ending I chose and because of that the demon teleport I got cost 666000 instead of free and because of the cost i didn't go do whatever it entails and unlock that demon. So i have to beat the game again on the same ending to get both of those. Sounds like a pain in the ass I don't know if its worth it to play anymore. Don't even know what dialogue choices need to be made to get all the unlocks on each route the answers seem pretty vague and could be any route. One playthrough was fun but I played for an hour into ng+ reborn and its a pain in the ass skipping all the tutorials and cutscenes. Might just watch the other endings on youtube. Gameplay was fun, story and characters are almost nonexistent. For a game that is probably 90 hours average of play it has 3 hours of cutscenes. Other JRPGS I've played at that length often have at least 2-3 times the amount of cutscenes. Even now after beating the fucking thing I can only recall the name Dazai Abdiel and Tao. Thats fucking pathetic, there are like 6 more characters in the game who I couldn't recall the names of if it would save my life. No game should be so lackluster in the story and character department you can't even recall their names after more than a hundred hours of play. I want to play other games in the series to see if they actually have stories but I worry the gameplay is gonna be shit in comparison. From a few videos I watched this as the newest game its the best the gameplay has ever been some older ones aren't gonna hold up well apparently.
>>487736 The older games are less forgiving (I beat all the mainline games) I have little to no faith in you succeeding or you will take nearly twice as long to beat the games compared to a normal person playing. (me) Just have your skills balanced and equally distributed amongst your party and have certain demons have certain roles. You could have just save-scummed before the alignment lock and then do all 4 endings that way, if you have a save there you can do the other endings even now.
>>487736 >So i have to beat the game again on the same ending to get both of those. Did you keep a save right when Aogami specifically told you "This seems like an important place to save" right after Metatron? You should be able to see all endings (minus True Neutral because I doubt you beat Shiva). >Thats fucking pathetic, there are like 6 more characters in the game who I couldn't recall the names of if it would save my life. No game should be so lackluster in the story and character department you can't even recall their names after more than a hundred hours of play. I agree the story is shit and the characters are forgettable, then again I can't remember the name of all the fags from Nocturne either, even though those characters were mostly well-developed. >For a game that is probably 90 hours average of play it has 3 hours of cutscenes. 90 hours for 1 play through is not average. I could be generous and say 70 if you're playing on hard and a complete noob, but with any degree of competence it should be 60 max. 50 if on normal which drops the difficulty to the floor. >I want to play other games in the series to see if they actually have stories but I worry the gameplay is gonna be shit in comparison. No other game has the same overworld movement as SMT V. As far as combat, Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne function almost identically. Though fusion in Nocturne is RNG so have fun resetting your demon hundreds of times for your dream combo. Playing Strange Journey it's very unforgiving too and the dungeon crawling aspect will definitely kick your ass.
>>487968 >Though fusion in Nocturne is RNG so have fun resetting your demon hundreds of times for your dream combo. In the remastered edition after an update it's not. You can't change a demons initial few skills but you can change the rest of them now. That was the only reason I managed to beat nocturne this time around. >Playing Strange Journey it's very unforgiving too and the dungeon crawling aspect will definitely kick your ass. Thats every single dungeon crawling SMT game. (SMT1, SMT2, SMT IF, SMT Soul Hackers along with SJ) Every game is manageable as long as you're persistent, not a fucking idiot and have decently well set up parties and most importantly enjoy the ride and are interested as fuck in seeing what comes next.
>>487982 Is there a mod the fixes the remakes shitty translation? Because if no I can't honestly recommend playing it over OG on PS2.
I want to impregnate Idun and Artemis
>>487987 As far as I know, not yet. Hell the only way to pirate the game is via the switch. God willing Atlus removes the Denuvo from the PC version so proper modding work can start. I loathe the new translation too, and if at all possible I'm considering trying my hand at modding to fix it. Come to think of it, was there any code analysis or reverse engineering done on the remaster?
Is it really true that it’s “war broke out in heaven” and not “one more god rejected?” I’ve been listening to it and sadly I do hear it the new way. It’s definitely “strike with all plagues” instead of “survive the fall from grace.” I can clearly hear the “st” sound.

>>501687 It does seem that way and makes more sense, theres a video about it and the guy goes to show the wavelenght of the audio and makes a sample with the same voice as an example.
(223.04 KB 1280x720 DUMMY.jpg)

>>501688 Why would someone go out of their way to prove the less interesting version? It's been ONE MORE GOD REJECTED for years, and no official source has ever said that's wrong.
>>501702 Honestly, though, it does make sense. I always found it weird that the fan lyrics were contradictory, in parts celebrating rejecting god and in others quoting scripture in fear of god. In this way all of the lyrics are just quotes from the book of revelation, which honestly seems like something Meguro would have done.

>>501702 Because you must face the truth even if you dont like it, faggot.
>>501702 SMT fans also think that Hijiri = Aleph when it was just made up by some guy as a joke.
>>501713 The lyrics are sung by a Japanese person. Go ask Atlus for official confirmation not faggots on youtube.
>>502010 The lyrics were sung by a tts program, I'm pretty sure.
>>502010 It was a tts, faggot.

>>501687 It's very clearly 'one more god rejected'. Don't let soyfags make you reject what your own ears know to be true.

>>502160 Please tell me why I should be up to date on what the chucklefucks at 4chan think is hip when I haven't been there in nearly 8 years.
>>472352 >Questionable localization issues aside is it worth skipping the remake of nocture? I'd say it's worth playing, from the perspective of someone who emulated the PS2 version about a year ago. I played the Maniax Chronicle Edition with Krysan Thyme's translation patch, and while I liked the PS2 version, I don't think I could go back to it now that I have the remaster. The remaster looks far prettier than the emulated PS2 version (which also had some visual issues when I played it, like for example in Shibuya), the voice acting is fine for the most part, and being able to manually select skills during fusion is fucking awesome. >I hear that it has resolution and frame slowdown issues. Is that true? I've never heard of resolution issues, but instead of letting you choose a resolution freely, on PC there's resolution presets and that does kinda suck. There's Low (640x360), Med (1280x720) and High (1920x1080). In order to play at higher resolutions, you need to hex edit the GameAssembly.dll file. But yes, there's nasty frame drops on certain instances, like for example when you/your demons level up, or when a de/buff skill is casted. They're being fixed on a beta update that you can opt-in (at least on PC), for whatever that's worth. If you're itching to replay Nocturne coming from the PS2 version like me, the remaster is good enough. Even then it's definitely not 50 dollars good though. If it wasn't for the nice discount it got in the past Steam Winter Sale, I wouldn't have bought it. A couple of extra notes: >The game runs at 30 FPS >The physics are tied to that framerate, so everything runs at x2 speed while uncapped >The soundtrack quality is hot garbage. There's a mod to replace the most relevant tracks with higher quality versions
